WHAT IS THE SONG KINGS AND QUEENS BY AVA MAX ABOUT!

A king is a male figure that is seated on a ceremonial/ decorated chair and vested with the power to rule. A Queen on the other hand is either the wife of a king or  a female figure that is seated on a ceremonial/decorated chair and vested with the power to rule. In some regions; a queen is the overall ruler; hence, she equally has the same power as the king.

In the song “Kings and Queens” AvaMax is of the opinion that women would perform more greatly and there would be “revels” if they were ruling. According to her, women would give better judgment contrary to the notion that women can’t, because they are seen as  “weaker vessels.” They are seen as emotional beings who are easily moved and always need the help of men to get through in most cases. They are also seen as people who lack physical strength to act based on the muscular size which they don’t have like most men. Ava Max is however saying that, women don’t have unchecked emotions, and, can as well breathe fire if the need arises. They can be firm to ensure rules are obeyed, and that they are not taken for granted.

The song also emphasizes the importance of women around men when conducting the affairs of the state. The presence of women around men would turn things around positively, and there would be celebrations among all.

Lyrically: The song has one verse. The chorus was taken four times, the pre-chorus was taken twice and the hook once; the trio dominated the song. She sang in English. I love the use of vocabulary; it helps expands listeners’ and viewers’ vocabulary. The lyrics are punchy, educative and interesting.

MEANING OF SOME WORDS

Damsel in distress: A young woman in trouble and always needs the help of a man. For instance, in cartoons were you see male super heroes rescue females is an example of damsel in distress

Breathing fire: To be extremely angry

Vocal: The artiste has an appealing vocal; she did not go out of tune all through the song. She was also consistent with her vocal quality.

Melody: The song is melodious.  The major instruments used to compose the song include drums, guitar and piano. The rhythm is a flowing one.

I love the video, colouful , electrifying performances, and the lightning is great. The video complements the track. We can see her in a Queenship position in an oversized ceremonial chair were kings and queens usually sit. She was also clinging to a sword to emphasize her strength and ability to take decisions without any fear.

Take a gander at the lyrics below.

LYRICS TO KINGS AND QUEENS BY AVA MAX

 INTRO

CHORUS

If all of the kings had their queens on the throne
We would pop champagne and raise a toast
To all of the queens who are fighting alone
Baby, you’re not dancing on your own

VERSE 1

Can’t live without me, you wanna but you can’t, no, no, no
Think it’s funny, but honey, can’t run this show on your own
I can feel my body shake, there’s only so much I can take
I’ll show you how a real queen behaves, oh oh .

PRE CHORUS

No damsel in distress, don’t need to save me
Once I start breathing fire, you can’t tame me
And you might think I’m weak without a sword
But if I had one, it’d be bigger than yours

CHORUS

If all of the kings had their queens on the throne
We would pop champagne and raise a toast
To all of the queens who are fighting alone
Baby, you’re not dancing on your own

 HOOK

Disobey me, then baby, it’s off with your head
Gonna change it and make it a world you won’t forget

PRE-CHORUS

No damsel in distress, don’t need to save me
Once I start breathing fire, you can’t tame me
And you might think I’m weak without a sword
But I’m stronger than I ever was before

CHORUS

If all of the kings had their queens on the throne
We would pop champagne and raise a toast
To all of the queens who are fighting alone
Baby, you’re not dancing on your own

 INTERLUDE (BEATZ)

BRIDGE

In chess, the king can move one space at a time
But queens are free to go wherever they like
You get too close, you’ll get a royalty high
So breathe it in to feel the love lo-ovvvvve, lo-ovvvve

CHORUS

If all of the kings had their queens on the throne
We would pop champagne and raise a toast
To all of the queens who are fighting alone
Baby, you’re not dancing on your own

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
