ADVERT REVIEW: KENYA INDOMIE NOODLES ADVERT “WHY THIS OBVIOUS FLAW?”

@ogefashblog

Hungry and need that quick to prepare meal? “Indomie Noodles” is the fast and easy meal to think of, ready to be taken in the next five minutes according to Indomie manufacturers. How true is that? Mine takes more than 5 minutes to cook o…

But really, I don’t know why Indomie manufacturers make people believe that Indomie noodles can be prepared in just 5 minutes; “asi” that is a lie. It obviously takes more than 5 minutes, fans of the noodle can testify to this.

THE ADVERT

A young lady is in the kitchen and she excited cooking Indomie noodles. She picks both the chicken and beef flavors to cook.

Next, the young lady is seen eating a bowl of Indomie noodles with her friend who is also excited.

SUMMARY OF THE ADVERT

A young lady is visited by her bosom friend and she prepares Indomie Noodles for her in less than five minutes (According to the time the advertisers displayed on the screen).

THE MESSAGE IN THE ADVERT

Indomie Noodles is sweet and comes in different flavors. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare.

THE REVIEW

This advert is a Kenyan advert and it features Gospel musician- Eve Bahati. The music was composed on one Kenyan’s main language- Tibetan.

I love this advert because it is very straightforward. So I am wondering why the lady had to change attire when it is still the same day; that is an obvious flaw for me.

I mean, when she was cooking noodles in the kitchen, she was wearing an orange jumpsuit, but when she joined her friend in the sitting room with a bowl of noodles, she was wearing a different attire; this time around a gown. Was that really necessary? It wasn’t necessary at all. Infact, changing of attire in that manner confuses the viewers at home. What made me recognize her was just her hair. It was also strange that despite how long her braids were, she found it comfortable letting it down while cooking the Noodles in the kitchen.

But away from the flaws, I love the whole setting for the kitchen and the living room.

So does this advert have the strategy to push people into buying the Noodles? Well partially! Indomie is one quick meal people naturally love to buy with or without advert.

A “SINGLE” WOMAN HAS MORE CHANCES TO SELF-SUCCESS THAN A “MARRIED” WOMAN

@ogefashblog

A single woman otherwise called “Spinster” who is yet to have a ring slipped into her ring finger by a man  is more focused than a woman who already has a ring in her ring finger and now bears Mrs.

Here is why

There is no man or anyone distracting her, no man lording over her, no man trying to make her do all his bidding; she does not need to worry whether her man is coming home early or not or has decided to hang out with some loser friends or hook up with some bitches for a night of fun. She makes and takes her own decisions. She is self motivated, self- determined, self- directed and self contained.

Where are all the single women? My hands are up too, common keep thriving, don’t be swollen that your man has not come your way, just keep working on yourself, the right man ordained for you will come when you least expect.

THE REVIEW

This song is what you call succinct! Hence this review will be succinct!

Mhen, ain’t kidding, this would be the shortest song I have ever reviewed on this platform. It did not take the ample hours other reviews take perhaps because it is just one verse with a repetition of the chorus and the pre-chorus.

Lyrically, the song comes in one verse. The chorus “What shall I render” and pre chorus “Nara nara eeh, narekele…” were taken twice and thrice respectively.

The artistes’ sang mostly in English but it was fused with one of the major languages in Nigeria- Igbo. The song is interesting and meaningful as it talks about giving back to the lord “praise” for his goodness upon one’s life.

The beginning though may be confused with the old worship song “What shall I render to the Lord (2x). I will render my soul, I will render my life, I will render what I have, what shall I render to my life”. Hence,  you may find believers in Christ singing one of the above instead of the other that they intended singing.

The song arrangement: Verse 1- Pre chorus- Chorus- Pre chorus- Chorus- Pre chorus.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the Verse 1 “You’ve done so much for me, I cannot tell it all,” the artistes are appreciative of God’s abundant goodness in their lives. They are eager to narrate to the world all that the Lord has done for them. However, they say what the Lord has done is so much that they can’t finish recounting even if they had ten thousand tongues. In essence, God’s goodness upon their lives is overflowing. They say God heals their sickness, grants their heart desires and so they have come to give back to him in thanksgiving; they call on God to accept their praise.

In the Pre-chorus “What shall I render to Jehovah?” the artistes are asking what they can give back to the Lord for his abundant mercy and goodness upon their lives.
In the Chorus “(Nara nara) Nara, nara eh (Receive, receive),” having concluded on giving Praise to the Lord for his goodness upon their lives, they pray to the Lord and implore him to accept their praise.

WHAT DOES THE SONG “NAREKELE” BY TIM GODFREY AND TRAVIS GREENE MEAN

“Nara ekele” which can also be written as “Narekele” is an Igbo word that means “Receive praise.” The song basically talks about the artistes who are grateful to the Lord for his abundant goodness upon their lives and have come to give back to the lord abundant praise and thanksgiving.

LOCATION

Not sure of the country, but I know this is obviously a church building. Perhaps, the artistes went for a ministration and decided to use the coverage for the official video of the song.

COSTUME

They were all unified in their white attires and black foot wears; they all looked terrific!

SOUND

This song is memorable and melodic.  They were very expressive as they sang.  The major instruments used in the composition of this song are the piano, drum, guitar and trumpet. It is a slow tempo beat. They also took high-notes which is commending because they did not go screechy. The back-up singers were also unified in their voices and their vocals were very much interesting to the ears.

VIDEO

So like I said in the intro, I don’t know if this is the official video, but it is what we reviewed for the song. It is okay. At least they were well coordinated.

(+LYRICS + TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: MY TRUST IS IN YOU BY DAVID G “JUST TELL ME HOW YOU CAN STAY UNMOVED AFTER LISTENING TO THIS SONG?”

@ogefashblog

“How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you” is a popular line in the song “Everything” by Life house; so I am asking the same question, how can you stand and listen to this spirit-filling song titled “My trust is in you” by David G and not be moved? Ko le work! (It can’t work!)

Kindly take a gander at the lyrics below before the main review…

(I put them all in you) I put them all in you; my trust is in you.

(In you oh God, In you mighty one, Lion of the tribe of Judah, eh oh oh oh)

I put them all on you; my trust is in you.

THE REVIEW

This is one song you just have to love even if you are not a gospel music fan. I love the intro; so very atmospheric.

Lyrically the song is a one-directional song whereby the artist repeats the line “My trust is in you.” I can categorically tell you that he said “My trust is in you” in this song like 30 times. Okay, I just counted how many times, it was about 25 times.Do you doubt me? Then listen to the vibe again…

The song arrangement: Verse 1- Chorus- Verse 2- Verse 3- Chorus- Chorus- Outro

The song is inspiring and meaningful as it talks about the artiste’s confidence in God.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the Verse 1, “Lion of Judah, my trust is in you”; Verse 2 “Isi nkedu (The living water)…” and the Verse 3 “Master of the universe, my trust is in you” David G basically calls God awesome names to honor and reverence him. He also says he has confidence in God in matters of his life.

In the chorus, “Ehh; I put them on you” the artiste reiterates with much emphasis that he places his trust in God while calling him sweet names.

LOCATION

The video was shot in Nigeria. It was an indoor shoot and the place looks so much like a factory.

SOUND

It is  a slow tempo song although the drum beats were not exactly soft. The artiste sang expressively to the beat. He also used  catchy words “My trust is in you”. His vocals are expressive, confident and convincing. The instrumentals are rhythmic. The drums and piano used in the composition of the song made it interesting to the ears.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
I love this video; a very unique concept. Quality video and great lightning! The opening scene is so atmospheric and captivating.  It is a video different from the usual video concept employed by Nigerian artistes.

(+LYRICS+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: ONE SONG BY FRANK EDWARDS FT DA MUSIC “THIS IS A SAMPLED BEAT FROM…”

@ogefashblog

So, a friend of mine @ Bunmi David needed to know what it takes and the number of hours it takes to do the kind of review we do at Ogefash blog. So, she took her pen and a paper and started to pen down some things about this song. As she was doing that, I asked her how it was going, her reply made me belive that she seemed to be having so much fun doing the write up. However, after about an hour she couldn’t continue despite how interesting she found our method of review to be. What am I trying to say, reviewing a song on this platform takes longer than an hour, as in it takes ample hours, it is okay to use our content to support your work or project, but it is not okay not to acknowledge us @ Ogefash blog @www.ogefash.reviews for the line lifted; no plagiarism biko…

Let’s take a gander at the lyrics below before the main review
