A lady- Desire (Acted by Ijeoma Grace Agu) who is betrothed to an over-principled, perfectionist, and self-centered guy- Ebuka (Acted by Anthony Monjaro) has no idea about how to cook. She buys food from eateries, and serves to Ebuka, making him think her hands are behind the exceptional cooking.
One night, Ebuka asks Desire to prepare dinner for his friends and girlfriends without giving Desire prior notice about it. Because of the short notice, she is unable to get food from eateries as usual. Desire, however, comes out open about how she always buys food, and serves him, because of her inability to cook, since her mum never created time to be with her while growing up.
Desire, however, tries preparing the food herself but it was a total mess. Ebuka disgraces her in front of his friends and cancels their forthcoming wedding. He sends her out of his house and orders her to go back to her mother’s house or grandma’s house to learn home training and how to cook before thinking of marriage with him.
Desire tries to get her mum to create time for her for the first time, and then teach her how to cook so that she can save her marriage, but her mum is really not the bonding type, so, she ignores Desire and asks her to go to her grandma in the village to learn how to cook.
Desire goes to the village and learns how to cook from a guy- Iyke (Acted by Kelechi Udegbe) who has big dreams of owning a big eatery in the city. Desire and the guy fall in love, but Desire is skeptical about going into another relationship when she is still dating Ebuka.
Hence, Desire turns down Iyke and tells him she has someone she wants to marry. When Desire returns to the city, she finds out that her fiancé- Ebuka already impregnated another woman. This of course paves way for her to say yes to Iyke, but not without having to go through some hassles to find him as Iyke has been lifted off from the shackles of poverty after his brother who owed him lots of money paid him back in triple folds.
I really don’t know why Desire’s mum was angry with her mum. The dialogue between Desire’s mum and grandma was not clear at all. In as much as I love this movie; I am wondering if it is truly realistic to want to return to a guy like Ebuke, who sent her out without any remorse.
