I really don’t know what these men have done to my Lizzo, but one thing that is certain to me is that she aint taking it lightly with any man most especially those men that are heartbreakers and think they can break her heart. But men why na? Why my Lizzo? Please don’t break my Grammy award winner’s heart…#Winks

ABOUT THE SONG “TRUTHHURTS” BY LIZZO

What exactly does she mean by Truthhurts in this song and who is the truth going to hurt?

Okay, truth hurts means telling people the truth about something which may hurt them or leave them in a bad state at that moment.

So who is this person the truth is going to hurt?

Men; those men that thought they broke her heart, but in the real sense, they never did!

So now, from the above explanations, you can connect what the song is about right? But then, Ogefash Blog is stilll going to the usual. Here is the real meaning of the song below

MEANING OF TRUTHHURTS BY LIZZO

In the song “Truthhurts” by Lizzo, she reveals how uncommitted and emotionally detached she is to men which may be hurting for those men with the sole intention of breaking her heart. Because, in all honesty,  if she doesn’t actually put her heart into a relationship; then no heart was broken.

The artiste sees men as “great men” with “great problems” especially in terms of being honest and faithful in a relationship, and as such, she would not be bothered by their acts. She would not even sweat over a guy after a break up, as a matter of fact; she would clear such guy off her mind and hair just with a “Shampoo press.”

From the lyrics, we can tell that Lizzo dumped her boyfriend because he wants to stop her shine and hinder her when he is supposed to stand by her and give her all the support she wants. This guy was not only holding her back, he also had the intention to make her his sidechic. Lizzo however reveals that rather than be his sidechic, she had rather remain “obviously” single. She goes as far as saying that in her new “singl”e status, if her ex’s friend asks her out, she may consider him. She also says dumping her ex was a way of moving on to a better man, like some guy with Minnesota Vikings, a professional American football team based in Minneapolis.

The major instruments used in the composition of this song include drums and keyboard. The song has three verses, the chorus was taken thrice…The lyrics are detailed and punchy.

Take a gander at the lyrics below

LYRICS TO TRUTH HURTS BY LIZZO

VERSE 1

Why men great ’til they gotta be great?
Woo

I just took a DNA test, turns out, I’m 100% that bitch
Even when I’m crying crazy
Yeah, I got boy problems, that’s the human in me
Bling bling, then I solve ’em, that’s the goddess in me
You coulda had a bad bitch, non-committal
Help you with your career just a little
You’re ‘posed to hold me down, but you’re holding me back
And that’s the sound of me not calling you back

CHORUS

Why men great ’til they gotta be great?
Don’t text me, tell it straight to my face
Best friend sat me down in the salon chair
Shampoo press, get you out of my hair
Fresh photos with the bomb lighting
New man on the Minnesota Vikings
Truth hurts, needed something more exciting
Bom bom bi dom bi dom bum bay

VERSE 2

You tried to break my heart?
Oh, that breaks my heart
That you thought you ever had it
No, you ain’t from the start
Hey, I’m glad you’re back with your bitch
I mean who would wanna hide this?
I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever be your side chick
I put the sing in single
Ain’t worried ’bout a ring on my finger
So you can tell your friend, “shoot your shot” when you see him
It’s OK, he already in my DM

CHORUS

Why men great ’til they gotta be great?
Don’t text me, tell it straight to my face
Best friend sat me down in the salon chair
Shampoo press, get you out of my hair
Fresh photos with the bomb lighting
New man on the Minnesota Vikings
Truth hurts, needed something more exciting
Bom bom bi bom bi dum bum bay

VERSE 3

I’ma hit you back in a minute
I don’t play tag, bitch, I been it
We don’t fuck with lies, we don’t do goodbyes
We just keep it pushing like aye aye aye
I’ma hit you back in a minute
I don’t play tag, bitch, I been it
We don’t fuck with lies, we don’t do goodbyes
We just keep it pushing like aye aye aye

CHORUS

Why men great ’til they gotta be great?
Don’t text me, tell it straight to my face
Best friend sat me down in the salon chair
Shampoo press, get you out of my hair
Fresh photos with the bomb lighting
New man on the Minnesota Vikings
Truth hurts, needed something more exciting
Bom bom bi bom bi dum bum bay
