There is no way you would listen to this song and won’t feel penitent; ko (it isn’t) possible. You would instantly be repentant and be pushed to amend your ways in the Lord. This song from beginning to the end is spirit-filling especially that intro part where she chanted crucify him about 6 times; I was lost in the spirit as I sat to review this song.

WHAT IS THE SONG OH JESUS BY MERCY CHINWO ABOUT

The artiste basically acknowledges the “Power” in the name of the Lord Jesus. She acknowledges how glorious the name “Jesus” is and how reliable Jesus is.  She says at the mention of the name “Jesus,” the sick gets well and negative situations turn around to positive. The name can do and undo things. The name of Jesus can calm the storm, break chains, move mountains  and conquer the unconquerable; the name is indeed powerful.

This song is dope. Powerful backup singers!  I love the uniformity in their voices!

The lyrics to this song are repetitive. What pre-dominated the entire song was “Oh Jesus, Your name is powerful, oh Jesus” and  “Oh Jesus, Your name is glorious, oh Jesus.” In fact, I feel those were the only lyrics in the song that she stretched till the end of the track-6 minutes 46 seconds.

The rhythm is spirit filling, the melody is spirit filling, the lyrics are spirit filling, the video is spirit filling, the artiste is sprit filled, the backup singers are spirit filled; the entire song is spirit filling. I love Mercy’s vocal in this song; so powerful, appealing, convincing and expressive. She was so expressive as she sang on the beat. She sang in English.

The major instruments used to compose this song include drums and piano. It is a slow tempo song and it is very interesting to the ears.

Take a gander at the lyrics below.
