(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: JOLLOF ON THE JET BY DJ CUPPY FT REMY AND RAYVANNY “CAN WE STILL SAY DJ CUPPY OWNS THIS SONG?”

So, like I asked in the caption of this article; can we still say Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy owns this song? Yes, of course, na, it is her song. Afterall we have Djs like Neptune, Kaywise, etc who feature top artistes in their songs but never input their vocals into the song.

DJ Cuppy’s case was different; her song “Jollof on the jet” features her vocal, except that I could not sync her lyrics with the lyrics of other artistes she featured on the song. DJ Cuppy featured Nigerian singer Rema and Tanzanian Singer- Rayvanny.

WHAT IS THE SONG “JOLLOF ON THE JET” BY DJ CUPPY FT REMA AND RAYVANNY ALL ABOUT

It seems like “Jollof on the jet” was used figuratively. I have tried linking it to the entire song, but I am still unable to. Unless the  artiste represented women with “Jollof on the jet.” Usually, people love to eat party jollof rice, since they can’t get enough of it, they demand more. In the same vein, a lady that is beautiful and sexy would be in hot demand by men, and they won’t get tired of wanting her. What y’all think?

Moving on…

Jollof on the jet is a love song that basically talks about the kind of loving someone gives to them that makes them feel good and excites them sexually or otherwise.

Lyrically: The song has only one verse taken by Tanzanian artiste- Rayvanny while the chorus was taken twice by Nigerian singer- Rema. DJ Cuppy took the hook twice. The lyrics are disorganized; it is hard to tell which is the real chorus, hook, or verse. The lyrics don’t also follow a particular sequence. In fact, the lyrics to the song are fair and could have been better.

To be honest, the first time I heard this song, I thought it was part 2 of Rema’s song titled “Ginger.” (View the review here https://ogefash.reviews/page/23/?archives-list=1 ). That’s all!

The artiste sang in pidgin and Swahili; a Tanzanian; Language

Vocal: They have got clear vocals, and there was consistency in their vocal quality.

Melody:  The song comes in a mid-tempo beat. The major instruments used in the composition of this song include drum and piano.

As at the time of penning down thoughts on this song; the video is yet to drop

Take a gander at the lyrics below.

Have the full translation for Rayvanny’s verse? Kindly share with us via the comment box, thanks.
