(+LYRICS + MEANING + TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: FIERCE BY LAYCON “THIS SONG IS JUST TOO…”

I love everything about this song; the flow of words, their facial expression, gestures, swag, and general performance in the song.

Really, this song is just too fierce like the artistes. When I say fierce, I don’t mean the negative meaning of fierce o, as in, I don’t mean “violent or ferocious”, I am referring to the positive meaning of fierce, as in “powerful and strong.”

The song “Fierce” by Laycon is dope, and I am already stuck to the song. I can’t seem to remove it from the repeat button. I am stuck to the song like I am stuck to my “Blocky highway game.” Winks!

I really doff cap for Laycon for coming out with this tuneful song which features dope rappers like Reminisce and Chinko Ekun. He really made the right selection in the choice of artistes he featured. Reminisce and Chinko Ekun killed it with their flow of words. I must say artistes in the rap genre have over time proven that they are better in terms of composing lyrics. What y’all think?

This song again is really dope! I can go on and on talking about this song non-stop

WHAT IS THE SONG “FIERCE” BY LAYCON ALL ABOUT

The word “Fierce” means to be wild, ferocious, violent and other synonyms of “fierce.’

However, in the context of this song, fierce doesn’t mean anything negative, but something positive.

Fierce in the context of this song means someone that is strong, powerful, resilient, rugged, bold, unmoved by words of haters, confident, brave, energetic, and fearless.

In the song, the artistes use the word “Fierce” to describe their personality, lifestyle, skills, music flow, and everything about them, which makes them stand out from others, successful, and to be highly demanded in their career choice and the society at large.

According to them, they are so strong in such a way that anyone that comes near them would be defeated. Their fierceness has made them take over the music industry or dominated the industry.

Lyrically: The lyrics are so on point. They are original, well written, organized, and sync so well. The lyrics are punchy. The lyrics flow well and are quite comprehensive. The lyrics are meaningful and partly humorous, especially Chink Ekun’s verse. The lyrics come in three verses taken by Laycon, Chinko Ekun, and Reminisce respectively.

Laycon’s lyrics are not interdependent, but the lyrics flow well and are meaningful. His verse talks about him not being an instrument to the devil, the extra-mile he can go to do things for people, how energetic he is, and his intention to make everywhere lively. Of course, he also talks about being fierce musically and in all aspects, which may threaten his opponents.

Chink Ekun’s lyrics are partly humorous. I love the part he said, “If you want to stress me, you would get a heavenly knock on your head.” Lol! He emphasized how fierce he is and the success he is able to achieve with his “Fierce” nature.

Reminisce’s lyrics basically emphasized his leadership in the music industry and how he is the most sought after.

The pre-chorus and chorus were taken four times by Laycon alone. The lyrics follow a particular sequence; all the verses also have the same number of lines (15). The artistes sang in pidgin and Yoruba, a Nigerian language.

Vocal: Their vocals are compelling and very interesting to the ears. There was consistency in their vocal quality. They sang expressively to the beat. They were so full of energy as they sang. By the way, I feel Laycon has a similar vocal to that of Vector the Viper. What y’all think?

Melody: This song has a solid beat. The beat is melodious and dope! Their coordinated vocals also brought out the beauty of the beat. The intro and outro are captivating, and would no doubt draw people’s attention to the song. The rhythm flows well. It is also engaging. It is the kind of rhythm people would be quick to sing along to. There was also consistency in the style of rhythm. The major instruments used in the composition of the song include drum, piano, and guitar.
