(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: BETTY BUTTER BY DAVIDO FT MAYORKUN “MAYORKUN MUST BE USING SOME MAGIC LIKE..”

I really don’t know how Mayorkun manages to do it; but of all the artistes signed to Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) record label, he is the only one that has been consistent and has also been churning out hits. Woh! He must be made for music and music made for him! In fact, I am certain he has some music magic or another magic like….I don’t know jare. What other magic could he have? Wait, let me ask him via his Intagram page….Don’t worry when he replies, I would hint y’all, and if you think you have an idea, kindly hint us via the comment box

WHAT IS THE SONG “BETTY BUTTER” BY MAYORKUN FT DAVIDO ALL ABOUT

I think the video vixen that played “Betty Butter” in this song has managed to secure herself a prominent identity. Because in truth, when people are talking about this song and the character that played Betty Butter, her face would always pop up. What y’all think?

About the song “Betty Butter”

Initially, I thought the song was about a lady having trust issues when it comes to dating men, but another glance at the video, I was able to understand the real meaning.

The song “Betty butter” is about a lady “Betty Butter” who is tricky around men and exploits men. She leads men on, making them believe that she wants to get into a relationship with them or have a sexual affair with them. The unknowing take care of her financially and materially; but once after receiving gifts from them, she discards them.

From the video, we can tell what happened to the two artistes- Davido and Mayorkun. Mayorkun was the first to send 12K Dollars (5 Million Naira) to Betty Butter, and Davido 50k Dollars (21 Million Naira); nna mhen, ego kali ego (Money pass money).

Lyrically: The song has three verses.  Mayorkun took verse 1 and verse 3 while Davido took verse 2. The chorus was taken thrice by both Davido and Mayorkun. The artistes sang in Pidgin but fused it with Yoruba words.

Vocal: Their vocals were clear and soothing. There was consistency in their vocal quality.

Melody: I love this song; very melodic. I love the style of rhythm and there was consistency in the style of rhythm. The major instruments used to compose the song include drum, piano and shakers.

Just Wondering!

I am wondering why that girl- Betty Butter rolled her eyes in this way though.

Take a gander at the lyrics below
