Ehen, moving on, so what did people say was wrong with this song? That they were doing Zancu leg dance abi? Se oro ni ye (Is that one talk). The way some people criticize others you would be wondering if dem sabi Jesus pass the information wey dey for bible about Jesus and the one ministered to them in spirit; did I just say that? What I am trying to say is that some people act holier-than-thou.
So, I heard someone say that “Because they danced Zancu by Zlatan” it is a worldly video; I laugh in Spanish. Those people no sabi anything. As far as am concerned there is nothing wrong with the choreography. He doesn’t need to watch Zlatan’s videos to know that the trending dance is “Zancu leg dance” by Zlatan. In this internet age, you would always be abreast of anything trending. Even if you don’t see it on internet, one or two of your neighbors are already dancing to it which makes you aware of the dance.
Some people need to calm down for Jesus!

THE REVIEW
So what exactly is the holy ginger in this song? Everything ni o (It is everything). Ginger means to be motivated to do something, to receive vigor to do something or to become lively. So why should you be lively? Because of God’s goodness upon your life.
So does the video of the song complement the title of the track? Yes they were looking gingered indeed by God’s goodness upon their lives hence the reason for the marvelous dance and praises unto the Lord
Meanwhile, after watching the drama and listening to the dialogue between Eben and his friend, it looked like Eben needed more of ginger than the caller he told to be gingered; well just saying…. Perhaps, it was because he just woke up from sleep.
Lyrically, the song comes in three verses. The pre chorus “All the way, all the way” was taken twice while the chorus “Jehovah Imela” was taken six times. The chorus got me so spirit lifted and gingered. It has a different pace from other lines of the songs; more like a worship feel that I so feel the artiste should yank off and use it to create an entire worship.
The artiste sang basically in English and fused it with few words in Igbo. The song is meaningful as it talks about being thankful to God for all he has done, and being motivated to praise and dance to the Lord for his goodness upon your life.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG
In the intro, “Dance for me, shake body” we can tell that the artiste is cheerful and he is in a celebration mood ready to dance to God because of his goodness upon his life.
In the Verse 1, “Lord, you give me peace everyday” the artiste is basically sharing God’s goodness upon his life. He says God gives him peace of mind and a reason to celebrate every day. He also says the blessings given to him by God are in excess.
In the pre-chorus, “(All the way) All the way, all the way” the artiste vows to stick with God forever because there is no one like him.
In the Chorus, “Jehovah Imela! Jehovah Imela” He is thankful to God for all he has done and also emphasizes the mightiness of God.
In the Verse 2 “Oya, oya sing for Him. Oya, Oya dance for you” the artiste basically exalts God with his dance and voice. He acknowledges the awesomeness of God as well as thanks him for taking away worries from his life.
In the verse 2, I think he meant to say “Oya oya sing for Him, oya dance for him” instead of “Oya, oya sing for Him. Oya, Oya dance for you”
In the Verse 3,”Oh I can’t explain how you make me feel” the artiste is thankful to God for always guiding him. He reverences God and acknowledges him as the giver of all he has, so he surrenders all to him.
In the bridge, “Oya, oya start to dey dance; shake body” he encourages people to celebrate God with a dance for his goodness.
WHAT IS THE SONG “HOLY GINGER” BY EBEN ABOUT
The word “Ginger” means to be motivated to do something or to be encouraged to do something
Hence “Holy Ginger” talks about being motivated or energized by the Holy Spirit which pushes you to dance, sing, thank him; to basically celebrate abundantly.

The video was shot in Nigeria; they used both indoor and outdoor scenes. Some of the places they used for the video shoot include – Hotel, the balcony of an apartment, street and the frontage of a house.
COSTUME
I just love that Eben’s costume; terrific. They were all casually dressed; t-shirt, jeans, shirt. I feel those major choreographers should have been uniformed.
SOUND
This is what you call hip hop beat! The intro beat is very captivating. I love the chorus tune “Jehoveh Imela” it has an entire feel from the rest of the song. I love the flow of rhythm. The artiste vocal was strong and expressive.
The instruments were varied, rhythmic and compelling; there is just no way you would listen to this song and you wont feel like shaking your body. It is a fast tempo song; the use of shakers, drums and guitar enhanced the beauty of the song and they were not conflicting one another.
