I really must commend Aubrey Drake Graham’s acting in this video, it was flawless. Did you see his facial expression and the way he exclaimed when he abruptly woke up from his dream? LOL! I kind of found that funny though. I doubt if he is a newbie in acting. Well, there is one way to find out, amma ask Wikipedia, hold on just for a second….

Okay, already did that, he has not featured in any movie yet but he is planning on releasing a short film titled “Please forgive me”. Good to hear that, I really look forward to watching the movie.

Okay, that’s it for the intro, do take a gander at the 32years old Canadian rapper’s lyrics to the song “in my feeling” Enjoy…

You a genius, you digging me?

The song opened with a short drama that lasted for about 2 minutes 7 seconds after which the real song started. It ended  at 5 minutes 23 seconds with another drama which culminated at 7 minutes 59 seconds. The song itself was basically 3 minutes 16 seconds.

In the short drama, the dialogue was basically between Drake’s first girlfriend- Kiki and Drake, though Kiki’s mother joined the dialogue soon. I love the opening scene, Drake has got terrific acting skills. He really put real feelings in the short drama.

The song “In my Feelings” is from his album- scorpion, and this track featured the city girls (JT and Yung Miami). Also, Shiggy a comedian famous for dancing to various songs is the brain behind @theshiggyshow. He initiated a viral dance challenge for the song “In my feelings” which saw a lot of top celebrities like Will Smith take part in the challenge. Shiggy had earlier danced to the song which went viral within few hours on all social media platforms. Shiggy also featured in the video as a dancer as well as a member of the production crew.

Drake- Kiki

Kiki- What

Drake– I am saying gal what’s up. I have been texting you all day but you have been ignoring me. I am trying to come to you like a man. I am out here. You see me?

Kiki– You ain’t trying to come to me like a man. And you too old to be on somebody’s frontline acting like this.

Drake– I tell you what, though you look good right now. I would have taken you out tonight to see a movie or something?

Kiki– (Blushes) Whatever

Drake– Look, I am trying to tell you, that I love you girl; for real

Kiki– You don’t love me

Drake– Yeah, I love you

Kiki– If you love me, then you make them other girls on your phone disappear

Drake– Okay then, so what do you want me to do? What do you want? You want me pass code, you want my phone? Tell me what you want me to do? Common, I will do anything you want…I promise girl

Kiki’s mother disrupts their conversation

Kiki’s mother–  Hello

Kiki– Ma’m

Kiki’s mother– I want you to get your joggers off my walkway. (Facing Kiki, she says “You be quiet Kiki and get yourself away from that window”).

Drake– Yes Ma’m

Kiki’s mother– This is not a pay date movie sir, you are a grown man, carry your ass home

Drake– Okay, you want me to leave or…

Kiki’s Mother– I want you to leave. And don’t forget to go when you leave

Drake– Okay, Yes Ma’m

Kiki’s Mother– Uhun

Drake– (Drake pretends to be leaving but returns after Kiki’s mother is out of sight to continue his conversation with Kiki) Hey

Kiki– What?

Drake– I am saying, look, tomorrow night. I am doing a song, same spot we always at. I wanna see you there, that’s all I am saying

Kiki’s Mother (Sensing he is still around returns again) Now, I know the whole neighborhood heard me, so you ought to have heard me too.

Drake– I am looking for my contact lens

Kiki’s Mother– Excuse me…, good night sir. I am looking at you

Drake– Yes Ma’m, I am looking at you, either one eye, you look great too

Lyrically~ Meaningful lyrics though but each line is independent; the lines are not interrelated. The song has two verses and three choruses.

Hey, did you hear when Kiki’s mother said “Get your joggers off my walk way, and don’t forget to go when you leave?” Funny right?

In the chorus, “Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?” Drake asks Kiki, KB, Resha and JT if they still have affection for him and will still stay with him or never quit on him. He says that he longs for them and would always be available for them no matter what.

In the Verse 1, “Look, the new me is really still the real me” , the artiste talks about different things. He talks about still being the same person people used to know him as irrespective of his big new status. He also beckons fans  to enjoy his song now cause people are trying their possible best to exterminate him. (So, I am wondering, who are those that want to kill our Drake na?Perhaps people that are in the game with him but have nothing to offer again, so, they are now beefing him. He keeps mentioning haters in his songs, just like God’s plan, which has been reviewed on Ogefash Blog. View here @ https://ogefash.reviews) The artiste also talks about taking a lady for shopping and how she shops extravagantly like it is her money or she really worked hard for the money, forgetting that it was someone else who worked assiduously that is actually paying for the shopping. He also makes reference to one of Jlo’s hit song in 2002 titled “Jenny from the block”. Lastly he says a particular lady is different from other girls that he knows.

In the verse 2, “Two bad bitches and we kissing in the way”, the lady says all she needs is his credit card and password.

In the song “In my feelings,” the artiste basically expresses strong emotions or what he feels for some ladies. He also wants to know if they feel the same way for him before promising to always be available for them.

Shit- Worthless matter, rubbish, stuff, nonsense, crap; Gotta– Must, have to

Real– Genuine, sincere; Feeling- Being emotional or expressing emotions.

Riding– A path; Beside- Next to, at the side of; Leave–  go away, depart

Feel– to be aware or know how someone is from touching or skin, fondling, to touch or stroke lovingly, grasp; Earn– receive reward/money for one’s effort or work

Run out of options– Not in line or related to the issue at hand, out of idea, use up all ideas or choices; Shopping– A lot of buying of goods

Spend– To squander, to use up; Pop off– Thrust away, put off promptly

Riding- A path or track for horse riders, to have a walk with someone, tag along with someone, journey with someone

Network-  To interact, associate or connect with someone for a specific purpose either personal or business. Exchange information or contacts

Networth- The value of all the non-financial and financial assets owned by an individual or organisation.

Black card– An expensive credit card that allows its users acess to various luxuries

Down for you always- It means being available for someone when he or she calls, do whatever someone wants no matter what

The video was shot outdoor and indoor, New Orleans.

Melodious! Drake was consistent with the style of rhythm. His lyrics flowed well with the lyric. The drum beat also enhanced the rhythm.

Also Drake had clear vocals compared to that of the city girls . I barely heard what the City girls rapped about.

The ladies wore mostly bum shorts, pants and bra, crop tops and tube tops. While the guys were mostly on casual

The entire video doesn’t reflect the lyrics of the song, except the beginning of the song; the short drama. But there were a lot of energetic dancing. Perhaps, the video was all about the dance.

I love the story concept though!

Drake goes over to see one of his girlfriends- Kiki at her place since she refuses to reply his numerous messages. In order to get her to peep from her window, he throws a light object on the window which gets her attention. When Kiki finally comes out, Drake tells her how much he loves her and wants to be with her and how he would love to take her to the cinema. Kiki tells Drake that if he truly loves her like he claims, he would make other girls disappear from his phone as in he would stop chasing other girls or stop flirting. Drake trying to make Kiki see that he is a different man says he can give her his phone and the passcode for her to see that he is a changed person. While conversing, Kiki’s mum comes out and orders Drake out of their compound and sends her daughter inside. Drake pretends to be leaving  but as soon as he sees the woman go inside, he turns back to Kiki and they continue their conversation. But  Kiki’s mum again comes out and sends him away. Drake pretends to be looking for his contact lens and tells Kiki to meet him at the same spot before taking his leave.

However, it was just a dream, he wakes up and narrates his dream to the guy with him. Moments later, one of the dancers in his dream~ Shiggy shows up and tries to get Drake ready for production. Drake is dazed seeing the same person from his dream.

  • When we would have music videos concentrate on a guy’s butt only and see them twerk all through the song

DURATION: 7 minutes 59 seconds
