(+LYRICS) MUSIC REVIEW: 4 DAYZ BY KISS DANIEL ‘IGBA DIE LOKU OR IBA DIE LOKUN?’

Igba die loku or Ibadie lokun? Fans and the general public seem to be at a loss as to the real word the Yeba crooner used in the latter part of the chorus “Girl I am loving you for days, anytime you call my name e be like I dey craze
igba die loku o (di e di e lokun o)”

But we @ ‘Ogefash’ blog had prefer to opt for the former which when translated to English means-‘just a little time is what is left’
So, i ask igba die loku for what exactly? Because, what he sang before that line was “anytime you call my name e be like I dey craze” So, one may say igba die loku ti ofi ma craze… (But the craze na for the girl sha)

Well, this is actually the shortest of all the music videos I have reviewed so far in 2018. The video span is less than 3minutes, but before we go to the main review why not digest the lyrics here…

THE REVIEW

Lyrically, the song 4 dayz is on point. The song has just two verses; quite short too. The lines of the verses connect well. Though there were some lines I couldn’t connect in Verse 2, it goes thus “Don’t betray me, don’t be Delilah, after which he added “If them laugh at you na thunder eh”. I really couldn’t see the correlation
Then I feel the chorus was incomplete “Igba die loku” for what?

WHAT IS THE SONG 4 DAYS BY KISS DANIEL REALLY ABOUT

Ii is no doubt a love song. After searching tirelessly for a heartthrob, Kiss Daniel finally finds her. He is head over heels in love with the lady and can’t get her off his mind. This he sang in the chorus “Girl I am loving you for days, anytime you call my name e be like I dey craze, igba die loku o (di e di e lokun o) eh”
He reigns praises on her “Baby girl you’re a such a miracle, thank your mama, you’re beautiful”

He however hopes that the lady would be his alone and pleads with her not to betray the love he has for her like that of Biblical Delilah. Kiss pleads with her not to sleep with other men. This he said in the line
“Don’t betray me, don’t be Delilah.”
“And if you travel, baby come back. No do wayo chop another banana (no no)”

VIDEO PRODUCTION:

Initially, I thought the video was trying to tell a story, but the latter part of the video got me confused, because I really do not know why all those in the club were running away from the police if they did not commit any crime.

The video was shot indoor, a place looking like a club. A deaf and dumb guy approached Kiss Daniel and gave him a piece of paper as well as pointed to a lady; he probably wanted Kiss to help him talk to the lady because he is in love with her. The deaf and dumb guy finally gets a chance to be with the lady and they smile all through,

apparently the lady is also deaf and dumb. Aside the deaf and dumb love birds, there were also those gambling in the club while others took to the dancefloor. The backdrop matched their outfits. The Ankara fabrics and the choice of design made the video colourful, though at the onset, the lightning was dim

COSTUME

it was more like an ankara party. A lovely choice of ankaa fabric though. The ankara fabric matched the backdrop. They were all dressed in ankara; like the pass to the party was the ankara outfit. One of the outfits Kiss Daniel wore vlcsnap-2018-02-20-04h50m12s247I recognised immediately as the one he wore to the Soundicty awards which took place in January. Obviously the shooting of this video was done around that period.

JUST WONDERING

• I thought the video was telling a story, but I got confused at the latter part of the video. Why did they all run out of the club when they saw the police. We don’t know why the police invaded their privacy and we don’t know why they took to their heels when they sighted the police. This dude must really be funny, he actually came back for his drink…vlcsnap-2018-02-20-04h52m25s444

• How were those two love birds communicating to each other, they were just smiling, perhaps both of them are deaf and dumb, At that moment, sign language should have been introduced in the video, or better still, there should have been an exchange of a piece of paper, just like Waheed gave kiss Daniel a piece of paper at the beginning of the video.

• Though he said igba die but it sounded like ibadie lokun, especially when the camera focused on the lady’s behind when he sang that line.

BEAT:
Great beat, eazy to sing along and you would definitely move your body to the beatzzz. The beat sounds familiar, like that of Mama sang by the same artiste
