(+LYRICS+ MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW- TAMBA BY MBOSSO “HERE IS WHY THIS SONG IS STILL TOPPING CHART IN TANZANIA!”

Mbosso is a Tanzanian artiste and his song “Tamba” is currently topping the chart in Tanzania. As a matter of fact, it has been on the number one spot for a number of weeks. The song has a makossa feel and was sung with various instruments like Harp, drum, guitar, and piano. The artiste also put real feelings into the song, and his performance and that of his lover was great. Just tell me; why won’t this song be interesting na? Why won’t it top chart na?

If you can recall, Mbosso has a song titled shilingi in which he featured Nigerian artiste- Reekado Banks. View the review here…

WHAT IS THE SONG TAMBA BY MBOSSO ABOUT

I can not categorically say if there is anything called “Tamba” in Tanzania. I have a feeling it is a slang or a word he just formed right on the mic. But to our Tanzanian readers out there, kindly hint us via the comment box if tamba is a slang or not. Thanks…

The song “Tamba” is a love song to a lady; but more of possessive love. The artiste is irrevocably in love with his significant other that he always wants to be around her all the time.  He also doesn’t want to see her around other men. Their love affair draws the attention of the public and makes them envy their relationship.

The artiste also shows his readiness and willingness to satisfy his woman’s needs financially and sexually.

Lyrically: The song comes in two verses. The pre-chorus and chorus were taken twice. The lyrics have some sexual undertones…

View the line below…

Tena dakitari nimekuja na tiba sindano (Leta nichomeche)

The above line in particular talks about him being his significant other’s medical doctor, and he would make sure he injects her with a syringe. This line is basically talking about penetration…
Also, the lyrics also are not quite connecting as there are too many interjections; too many broken links that make the song difficult to interpret. The artiste sang in Swahili; one of the languages in Tanzania.

Vocal: The artiste was consistent with his vocal quality. His vocal was clear. He put real feelings into the song, and flowed well on the beat.

Melody: This is tuneful. The instruments are well varied and balanced. It is a fast-tempo beat with a makossa feel. The major instruments used in the composition of the song include harp, drum, guitar, and piano.

LYRICS TO TAMBA BY MBOSSO

VERSE 1

Pasha maji weka moto
Tandika jamvi naja nyumbani
Nimekulete azawadi

Fungeni maturubayi (Keshe kisema)
Wala hamputupi shida (Keshe kisema)
Boko zanku najidayi (Keshe Kisema)
Kama afisa wa nida oh oh oh oh
Tena dakitari nimekuja na tiba sindano (Leta nichomeche)
Nakibinda mwali napita kwenye mabano (Leta nichomeke)
Nipo ngangari tayari kwa mapambano (Leta nichomeche)
Chanya kagusa hasi leo mambo msuguano (Leta nichomeke)

CHORUS

Tamba! Tamba! Nakupa uwanja tamba (Tamba! Tamba! I will give you a field)

Tamba! Tamba! Warushe warushike roho zao (Tamba! Tamba! Let me be the one to guard your  soul)

Tamba! Tamba! Wasokujua wakujuwe leo (Tamba! Tamba! Let me give you recognition today )

TRANSLATION OF TAMBA BY MBOSSO TO ENGLISH WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY DEUCIE MERCIE @deuciemercie @ogefashblog

 “Make water; hot hot

Take a shower I am coming home

I have brought you a gift; my sweet, coconut sweet honey honey

Your beauty is not an exaggeriation; your taste is not an exaggeration.

Close the canvas

And don’t put me in trouble; don’t leave me in denial

It’s the first time; let’s pretend

As a medical officer ooh….

Let me be the doctor that would give you medical syringe (Bring me a burn) (Bring it on fire)

Positive touch today; make it rough (Bring it on fire)

“Love is not robbery (Listen to what she says)

Give us no trouble (laugh if you say) Well first we claim (laugh at him)

As medical officer ooh

Let me be the doctor that would give you medical syringe (Let me burn) (Burn me)

Positive touch today; make it rough (Bring it on fire)

Interestingly, Ogefash blog also known as Ogefash Photo Blog is the first blog all over the world to blog with lots of interesting pictures to support all articles. Ogefash says "I don't keep male friends because they always say "sex" is part of friendship. I don't keep female friends because they are always bitchy. I only keep people I can call more than a friend!" Ogefash has an affinity for TV reality shows. In 2018, she represented Nigeria in the PanAfrican TV reality game show "The Maltavator Challenge" powered by Nigeria's number one malt drink packed full of energy giving vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6;Malta Guinness.
