ADVERT REVIEW: CLOSE UP’S “TRIALS OF BRODA SOJI” “WHEN SOMEONE WITH MOUTH ODOUR WANTS TO RESUSCITATE U WITH THE MOUTH; U ARE FINISHED!”

THIS CLOSE UP’S ADVERT IS CALLED “TRIALS OF BRODA SOJI”
Quite an interesting advert to watch. Imagine someone with mouth odour offering to revive those that collapsed because of this same reason with the same mouth through “mouth to mouth breathing”; it is a serious matter.

THE ADVERT

So, at the beginning of the advert, a young man by name- Soji, well dressed in suit walked in confidently into a certain company for his interview. There were two interviewers (a male and female) waiting to interview Soji. With Soji’s terrific appearance, the interviewers were pleased to have him around and were ready start the interview after welcoming him with a smile. They beckoned him to take a seat which he did.

So, the male interviewer requested Soji to talk about himself, but as he opened his mouth to voice out, the stench oozing out from his mouth automatically disqualified him. The interviewers collapsed for a while. Even, Soji didn’t know that his mouth odour was what made them collapse as he kept talking. But the moment he offered to do CPR (find out more about CPR here… https://www.australiawidefirstaid.com.au/what-is-cpr/ )for them in the form of mouth to mouth resuscitation, the interviewers finally got themselves back and then chased him out of the building.

THE REVIEW

I love this advert; simple and self explanatory. Not too many spoken words which allows the audience to concentrate on the visuals and quickly pick the message in the advert. Companies that do their adverts in this format (less spoken words) are those that know the principles of advertising. In no time, the message would be easily understood by the viewers, and that is one thing that stands close up advert out from other product’s advert; less talk more action. Even if no word was spoken in this advert, it would still be easy to understand.
