Dax “God’s Eyes” Song/Lyrics Breakdown

In the chorus, Dax raps about how he hasn’t come in contact with God’s eyes but the devil’s. He says the devil manifests through men on Earth. The devil detests people serving God and tries to impede their service to God in various ways. The devil wants people to disobey God’s word in the Bible, to be destroyed, and go to hell. According to him, he battled the devil from capturing his soul. Just like 1 Peter 2: 9, he regards himself as the chosen generation, one that is set apart from others and ready to ward off darkness and bring Glory to God and His kingdom.

In verses 1 and 2, Dax highlights things that men on earth do that don’t show God in them but the devil. Some of them include portraying the religion as evil, corrupting the church, idolizing false prophets, comparing, and intentionally using God’s word to cause division, telling lies, monetizing the gospel, lacking sensitivity for the sake of making money, and deceiving people.

He also raps about God’s grace sustaining humans in perilous times, as their faith is threatened and broken. He raps about the division in the world, the media’s proliferation of fake news, people boldly doing the wrong things, lack of virtues and integrity. 

He raps about sin and wicked people on the rise, how silly people and things are given recognition while the intelligent ones are ignored. He raps about how the earth is filled with great suffering and how it will crumble anytime soon. 

Finally, Dax hopes that people who have been dwelling in sin for too long can fix themselves now because, on judgment day, they will stand on their own to give an account of their life on earth.
