About Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi 

Ovonramwn ruled Benin Kingdom between. When the white men came to Nigeria, they wanted to capture Edo, Benin, but, the king refused. Some chief betrayed him. They captured Ovonramwn and deported [exiled] him to Calabar. 

He served some days in prison before he was later killed. After some days, his first son traveled to Calabar to retrieve the dead body of his father, but, they refused him. By the custom and traditions of the land, Oba’s corpse ought not to sleep in another man’s land, but it did.
