Abinibi yato si ability meaning:
Abinini means Indigenous but in the context of this song, it means inborn/inbuilt talent.
Hence, the above means inbuilt talent can’t be likened to talent that was built or learned after birth.

Orimolade gbemidebe meaning:
Ori means head. Ade means crown. Therefore, Orimolade means “The head knows that he should be crowned.”
Orimolade gbemi debe [The head that knows who should be crowned has taken me there.]

Asake “2:30 [Tranquility]” Song/Lyrics Breakdown

In verse 1, Asake announces his return after being away from the music scene for over two months. He returns to say that there are a lot of people trying to imitate his music style. But he lets them know that his successful music style and skills are inborn and were not earned after birth. That is, his talent is inbuilt [na follow come like Pidgin speakers go talk] and not something he learned. This he sang in the line “Abinibi yato si ability.”

Asake, however, makes it clear that he is not sad that people are trying to copy his style, he is thankful that he has created a style of music people are now interested in and are also emulating. He is like a family material “Asoebi” everyone wants to wear but definitely, after sewing the “Asoebi” one person’s own would be more outstanding. View the lines below:

“Many many fe dabi mi, eri bi [Many want to be like me, but are unable to birth such a person.]

Egbolorun tobi [Lift God high.]

Mo da aso ebi for my country [I have become a “family cloth” for my country.]”

He further says that they can’t be like him because there is no one else like him, no better version of him.

In the plain chorus, Asake sings about having a good time/fun before the day breaks/early morning. The chorus is not dependent on the verses. It has a different meaning from the entire song.

In verse 2, Asake says having the right gathering and thinking matters a lot. He advises people to have the aforementioned and stay peaceful rather than fighting people for the peace they have attained for themselves. He is searching for tranquility for himself and not war.

Also, Asake says you can’t get a better version of him because his skills are incomparable. He also brags about his wealth.

What is the meaning of the song “2:30 [Tranquility]” by Asake?

“2:30 [Tranquility]” Meaning Asake

Meaning of 2:30 [Tranquility]?

Asake in the song “2:30” brags about his wealth which he acquired from his inbuilt talent/music skill, the same talent a lot of people are now trying to mimic. Asake indirectly takes a jab at those trying to copy his music style and lets them know that regardless of how many imitations they want to do, no one can be like him, because, his talent is inbuilt and was not suddenly built after birth. That is, his talent is inborn and not learned.

One can say that he may be taking a jab at Nigerian singer and songwriter, Seyi Vibez and others trying to replicate exactly his style of music, lyrically, vocally, and otherwise.
