I don’t know people are “paraing” about this song. As in, I don’t’ know why they are madly in love with this song. Really, to me, the lyrics to this song are just fair, far from fair actually; even though the beat is so dope.

So, really, I am reiterating it again, why are people so “in love” with this song. Don’t get it twisted o, ain’t saying people should not like the song, but, there has to be more reason for the song “Fem” massive reception by people with so much love.

I am thinking that the love for this song is largely attributed to the artiste’s return to social media and music scene after leaving the scene temporarily for months without uttering words or posting pictures on his social media accounts. So the love was then transferred to this song, what y’all think?

WHAT IS THE SONG FEM BY DAVIDO ALL ABOUT

Para is an acronym of paralytic which means drunk.

Another meaning of para is the Nigerian slang that means “Get angry”. In the context of this song, para means to get angry, as in extremely angry.

While “Fem” means “Quiet”

The word 30 BG is an acronym for 30 Billion Gang. The word was coined by Nigerian artiste Davido to represent his worth and the worth of the clique he associates with.

About the song “Fem” by Davido

In all honesty, I can’t seem to find a perfect meaning for this song because the flow of words was weak. But, a careful look at some of the lines show that the artiste may be quieting those people who have the boldness to speak ill about him, and those who are hating on him because of his continuous success and wealth. He says those who are envying him, and angry about his success or something else, have his fans to contend with. The loyal fans he believes would always stand by him or have his back.

The artiste also brags about his worth. According to him, actions speak louder than words. He says his carriage, style, lifestyle, and everything about him depict wealth; so he doesn’t have to start telling it about to prove it. When you stumble on him, his appearance will say it all.

Lyrically: The lyrics are fair. However, the lyrics are also in array; both verses one and two have the same number of lines. The pre-chorus and chorus were taken twice. The lyrics are also not interrelated. I can’t feel the flow of words in the verses and chorus. He sang like he was singing to his gist partner who already understood his gifts.

In the chorus for instance

“Why them come dey para, para, para, para for me? (Why are they now angry (4x) with me)
Na why 30BG we go para, para, para; dem go para for you (That’s why 30 BG would be angry (3x); they would be angry with you)”

Those two lines do not flow; they are not well linked, and this may confuse listeners. Except the artiste was trying to say that if you get angry with him, his whole 30 BG clique will get angry with you also. What y’all think?

This particular line “Make una tell am to call me (You all should tell him/her to call me)” reminds me of the message he publicly sent to the musician, Cynthia Morgan when she had an issue with her former record label- Northside Entertainment record owned by Jude Okoye.. Could this line be referring to Cynthia Morgan?

The artiste sang in pidgin. The lyrics to the chorus are catchy

MEANING OF SOME WORDS

To run up on someone means making a move with the intention to hirt someone

Para means to get angry

30 BG means 30 Billion Gang

Vocal: There was consistency in the artiste’s vocal quality. He didn’t go screechy because he did not take any high notes.

Melody: The most melodious part of the song is the chorus “Why them come dey para, para, para; para for me” That part carries listeners’ along and get them to sing along too when the song comes on air. The rhythm flows well and there was consistency in the style of rhythm.

The major instruments used in the composition of this song include harp, guitar, piano and drum. The variety of instrumentals employed in the song and the way they were used added beauty to the song.

JUST WONDERING

“Make una tell dem to call me” I am wondering who exactly Davido was referring to
