I love this song! I actually just yelled that. I love everything about this song; the track itself, the visual, the costumes, the choreography (the latter part though) and Mercy’s performance. This is another song that my neighbor succeeded in playing into the catalog of songs to be reviewed on Ogefash Photo blog. God! My neighbor wouldn’t just let this song stop playing. She played this song repeatedly likewise “Omekannaya” by the same artiste.
WHAT IS THE SONG CHINEDUM BY MERCY CHINWO ABOUT?
Depending on the way you want to phrase the grammar, but Chinedum is an Igbo word in Nigeria that literally means God is going with me or directing me or leading me.
The song basically talks about the importance of having the backing of God as well as being directed by God in life in order not to live a life of vanity. View in verse 1…

The lyrics to this song are meaningful and inspiring. It, however, doesn’t follow a particular sequence. The artiste sang in standard English and pidgin but fused it with the Igbo word “Chinedum” which means “God directs me or God is following me”
Mercy has a very appealing vocal. The beat to this song is melodic also. The major instruments used to compose the song include drums, piano, and shakers. I love the video; she was really in high spirits. She was expressive all through the song. I love the video concept; so different from the norm and very interesting to watch. The video has got high quality and great lightning. The location where the video was shot is beautiful. No wonder it has over 8 million views on YouTube. The video which was shot in a desolate place; a desert, depicts a lady who went on fasting and prayer and spiritual meditation on a mountain.
I love their choreography in the 3 minutes 42 seconds of the video. I prefer the latter choreography to the one done at the beginning of the song; that choreography though, dika nke ndi ogbanje (looks like those of possessed spirit) What y’all think? Or they are simply possessed by the holy spirit? #Winks.
