(+LYRICS+ MEANING + TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW- LOVE NWATITI BY CKAY FT JOEBOY AND KUAMI EUGINE “THE REALEST MEANING OF THIS SONG!”

Love Nwantiti which is an Igbo word in Nigeria means  “Small Love.” It is a song by chocolate city singer- Ckay, and he features Nigerian singer- Joeboy and  and Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer- Kuami Eugene.

WHAT IS THE SONG “LOVE NWANTITI” BY CKAY FT JOEBOY AND KUAMI EUGENE

This is no doubt a love song. In the song, the artistes talk about the effect a particular lady they love has on them. This lady excites them and dominates their thoughts. They pledge their loyalty and commitment to her. They also vow to take care of her financially.

They are also mesmerized by the lady’s body and desire to have her sexually. View some lines below that reveal this…

“Ooh love;  your body dey gbaka mi isi (Your body drives me crazy)
Ooh love; open up make I see

I want to chop your nkowbi

Every night na you I want dey carry to my bed ololo
Ani ka  ma log in no need to pariwo (I said we should always log in; no need to shout)”

Lyrically: The song comes in three verses taken by Ckay, Joeboy and Kuami Eugene respectively. The pre-chorus was taken twice while the chorus was taken thrice. The lyrics are averagely written. Also, some of the lyrics have sexual undertones.

Biko (please) people, what exactly where they humming in the chorus? Have an idea? Kindly share with us via the comment box…thanks in advance

Vocal: They have appealing vocals; but at some point, their vocals were not clear enough. The artistes sang majorly in pidgin but fused it with few Igbo words like “Nwantiti, yem, gbaka mi si…” which have already been translated in the lyrics.

Melody: This song is very interesting to the ears. It is a mid-tempo song. The major instruments used to compose the song include drums, piano and guitar. The rhythm flows well with the beat. There was also cosistency with the style of rhythm.
