WHAT IS THE SONG CAN WE KISS FOREVER ABOUT

“Can we kiss forever?” is the title of the song by Kina ft Adriana Proenza which comes in form of a question but was never used all through the entire duration of the song.

The use of the title “Can we kiss forever” in form of a question, is to emphasize the desire by a lady/guy to have a loving long-lasting relationship with the significant other.

Can we kiss forever is no doubt a love song; but an unrequited love.

The song is about a lady who is depressed and in emotional pain over an existing relationship. She loves someone dearly, but her love is not reciprocated. She is head over heels in love with the person and allowed her feelings for him affect every other area of her life. She went overboard in loving him despite the red flag. As their relationship deepens with no reciprocation of love coming from the one she loves; she wonders if they would have a powerful long lasting relationship. Hence the title “Can we kiss forever?”

Lyrically: The lyrics are short.  The lyrics are profound, unpredictable, well written and help expand listeners’/viewers’ vocabulary. These are not the everyday vocabulary and the lyrics may not be easily understood by a layman. The lyrics don’t follow a particular sequence; it is hard to tell which is the verse, chorus, pre-chorus or hook.

MEANING OF SOME LINES

Cross the ocean of my mind:  To go overboard emotionally. To focus or give more attention to someone in a relationship in such a way that you don’t see how much it is affecting you. To go too far in showing one’s affection for someone.

Cross the ocean for someone: This is when someone is willing to take a risk to be with the person he/she loves as well as prove his/her love for someone. It is the extra mile someone would go to show how much they love a person as well as prove their readiness to stick with that person. It is also the willingness to do the impossible and selfless things for the one you love.

How strong is the feeling when we dive: As their relationship deepens, she is wondering if what they feel for each other is powerful…

All my senses intensified…Whenever you and I, we dive: She feels insecure and tensed as their relationship deepen

Vocal: Proenza Adriana has an attractive vocal. She sang soulfully.

Melody: The beat is catchy and soulful. It is a slow tempo beat. The major instruments used to compose the song include drums, piano and guitar. The intro is catchy

Take a gander at the lyrics below.

But in the end I drown
You push me down, down
