IG@ogefashblog.

My neighbor likes to play this song a lot; apparently, he and his clique are using the song for choreography. I did not even know that it was Master KG’s song. It was when one of Ogefash Photo Blog readers via WhatsApp mentioned the song as one of the top 5 songs in the music chart, that I became aware of the singer and decided to include it into our catalog of songs to be reviewed.

Interestingly, Master KG doesn’t sing, he produces music and features powerful vocalists just like he did for his popular song–Skeleton move ft Zanda Zakuza (View the review here https://ogefash.reviews/2020/02/05/four/) , and now Jerusalema ft Nomcebo.

What most people don’t know about Mater KG is that he is a very young artiste. His real name is Kgaogelo Moagi. He was born in 1996 in Limpopo, SouthAfrica.

You can now WhatsApp us on +2348087261006; we love to hear from you!

WHAT IS THE SONG JERUSALEMA BY MASTER KG FT NOMCEBO ABOUT

Jerusalema is how South Africans call Jerusalem. Jerusalem although is the capital of Isreal, but I believe is also a religious  word and mostly associated with the Gospel. However, I am not really certain why the artistes titled the song “Jerusalema.” Because, there was no mention of God throughout the 4 minutes 14 seconds of the song.

Jerusalem according to Thesaurus dictionary is an holy acient city and a center of pilgrimage for for Jews, Christians and Muslims). View more here https://www.dictionary.com/browse/jerusalem

Going by the bad occurrences and challenges in today’s world, the artistes may be longing for a city better than the one they are currently living in. They perhaps desire a city where there would be no injustice, turbulence or challenges but a city of peace. The artistes may also be praying for guidance in all they do so that they do not take the wrong step that would lead to their downfall or death.

Lyrically: They lyrics don’t follow a particular sequence; the artistes just fused some words together and sang how they like. The lyrics are brief and punchy though. The lyrics are also repetitive. The song has just seven different lines but they were stretched till the entire duration of the song. View the only 7 lines of the song.

“Wanitwa mos (2x) Master Master KG

Jerusalema ikhaya lami(Jerusalem is my home)

Nglono loze(Protect me)

Uhambe nami (Walk with me)

Zungangi shi yi lana (Do not leave me here)

Ndawo yami ayikho lana (My place is not here)

Mbuso wami awukho lana (My kingdom is not here)

Zu ambe nami (Walk with me)”

So, like I asked readers in the review of skeleton move, I would ask here again. So, what Language did Nomcebo sing in? Is it Zulu, Tsonga, Afrikaans, Swati, Venda, Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, SiSwati, Venda, Xhosa (Wow! Again, I just practically mentioned the official Languages in SouthAfrica. View more here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_South_Africa) I want to believe Nomcebo sang in Zulu; one of the Languages in South Africa. (Thanks Denga from South Africa for pointing this out)

I

Vocal: Wow! Nomceba really has got deep and strong vocal, but then, it still added melody to the song. She was so expressive as she sang the lyrics.  I really love her expression all through the song. Her vocal is convincing. She was also consistent with her vocal.

Melody: Melodious! The song comes on a fast-tempo beat. The major instruments used to compose the song include drums, piano and guitar. The instrumental is well balanced and interesting to the ears.

Take a gander at the lyrics below ….

Kindly feel free to correct the lyrics, thanks…
