(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: FEELINGS BY SARKODIE FT MALEEK BERRY “IS THIS TUNE NOT SIMILAR TO CAN’T LET YOU GO?”

IG @Ogefashblog.

The song “Feelings”reminds of “Cant let you go by Sakordie ft King Promise (View the review here https://ogefash.reviews/2019/08/21/lyricstranslationmeaning-cant-let-tou-go-by-sakodie-ft-king-promise-great-tune/). I think the two songs are similar. Was he trying to remake the tune “Can’t let you go” with a different vocal feel like that of Blackberry’s?

Anyway, which do you prefer? Can’t let you go? Feelings?

ABOUT THE SONG FEELINGS BY SARKODIE FT MALEEK BERRY

The song “Feelings” is a love song by Sarkodie ft Maleek Berry. Feelings mean to have affection for someone, to desire someone or to have emotions running through one. The song talks about how much a guy loves a lady and desires to marry her. He has never had intense feelings for any lady before except with her. Although he is having trouble or finding it difficult to express his feelings to this lady; his vows that his feelings however for her are true. He pledges to love her wholeheartedly, give her lots of cash and take her to places she never imagined.

The song comes in two verses taken by Sarkodie. The chorus and post-chorus was taken twice by Maleek Berry. The lyrics are detailed and heartwarming.

I love the video, it is Interesting to watch and it conplements the track. The Major casts were quite expressive. They put real Feelings into the song. However, the video is quite confusing.

The story in the video

Tom (Acted by Peter Parker Mensah) started out as a cameraman who was deeply in love with the reporter- Abena (Acted by Natalie Whitmore ) but did not know how to express his feelings to her. When he finally decided to let her know how much he loves her with some flowers in his hand at her abode, he saw her pecking a certain man. This shattered his heart.  Apparently, he has been fantasizing about his co-worker and ended up dreaming all night about her.

Hower, the confusing part of the video was when Tom resumed to work as a reporter rather than a cameraman. Abena also resumed to work as a cameraman rather than a reporter. So what really happened? Was it that in his dream, he saw Abena doing his job? The video is really not clear to me but it is interesting to watch like I said earlier because they were quite expressive.

The song is so melodious and the rhythm flows well, especially the chorus and post chorus. I can’t stop singing the line below…

“Me dɔ wo (I will love you)
Abena me dɔ wo (Abena I will love you)
Abena me ware wo (Abena I will marry you)
Abena me hia wo (I need you)
Abena me ware wo (Abena, I will marry you)
Abena me dɔ wo (Abena, I love you)
Abena me ware wo (Abena, I will marry you)
Abena me hia wo (Abena I need you)
Abena me ware wo (Abena, I will marry you)”

I am so in love with this song. Also, the atistes have got vocals that are interesting to the ears. There was consistency in the style of rhythm and the rhythm is engaging; is something that captures one’s attention and make them sing along immediately. The artistes sang in English and Twi; a Ghanaian language.
