Phew! It took me hours upon hours to review “Yummy” by Justin Bieber compared to the typical no of hours I usually use when reviewing any music. Infact, I had to go back to the roots of “Ogefash photo Blog” style of reviewing music; talk about reviewing songs line by line, verse by verse, word for word, location, video, sound etc before the summary of the song.
The chorus “Yeah, you got that yummy, yum. That yummy, yum”
In the chorus, Justin Bieber may not be referring to a delicious meal like the one he is seen eating out of in the video; he may perhaps be referring to a “woman” as the delicious meal that he wants to eat out of. In essence, he is describing the woman that is sexually attractive and delicious sexually.
The post chorus “Say the word, on my way. Yeah babe, yeah babe, yeah babe”
Ofcourse, something that is delicious sexually would keep you coming back for more. So, in the post chorus, Justin shows his commitment to this woman and his readiness to gratify her sexually or otherwise. All she needs to do is to “say the word” and he would be there any day or night she needs him. The idiom “Your wish is my command” fits in properly for this part of the song.
The Verse 1 “Bonafide stallion. You ain’t in no stable, no, you stay on the run”
Now something that is bonafide is authentic, genuine or real. A stallion is a male horse. This verse 1 therefore compares the energy of his woman; sexually or otherwise to that of an energetic horse that would never be kept in the stable as it would always be used by the horse owner for hours and it would never get tired. He says such woman is always the first among other girls. With her vitality, she can’t be tired anytime he comes around and needs sex badly.
The Pre-chorus “Fifty-fifty, love the way you split it. On the racks, help me spend it babe”
In the pre chorus, Justin may mean that he and his woman share equal responsibility. That is, they give same thing in all kinds of input in the union. Or may be he means that what ever belongs to him, also belongs to her and vice versa. Or perhaps, whatever they own is shared equally. But all in all, he wants her to spend his money the way she likes cause she is the only one that gives him pleasure.
The Verse 2 “Standing up, keep me on the rise”
If the above line is not talking about sex, then it means that this special woman in his life is responsible for where he is today. She has made him more successful and popular. He says he can’t control his feelings for her; and this special woman on her own side can never run short or be tired of satisfying him.
Now, who can Justin Bieber be possibly referring to as yummy? Any idea? Y’all let me know. For me, one thing is certain, if he is not referring to Selena Gomez due to their past relationship, or girls generally, then he may be referring to his new wife “Hailey Bieber” that makes him “walk on air”

SO WHAT IS THE SONG YUMMY BY JUSTIN BIEBER REALLY ABOUT
The word Yummy means delicious, delectable, spicy, juicy and all the other synonyms of yummy. But in the context of this song, the artiste used the word “Yummy” to describe how pleasing his woman is sexually. This woman is not only pleasing sexually but she is also a contributing factor to his successful career.
I love the song, it is melodious, especially the chorus. I feel the chorus is the most melodious part of the song. The rhythm also flows well and the artiste has got an appealing vocal that killed the beat. The major instruments used in the song include the harp, guitar, keyboard and the drums. The song has two verses; the choice of words may not be easy for the layman to decipher. The post chorus and chorus come four times while the pre chorus was taken twice.
