(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: ONE THING BY MARSHMELLO AND JANE BROWN “AWWW!”

IG @ogefashblog.

“One thing right” is a song by Marshmello and Kane Brown. One thing this song does to me is thatit sends chills down my spine especially that part in the pre-chorus where he sang “But I got one thing right, you (I am like awwww!)” before proceeding to the chorus, that also gives me goosebumps.

You know what? I really can’t stop listening to this song because the tune is melodious and the lyrics are heartwarming.

ABOUT THE SONG “ONE THING RIGHT” BY MARSHMELLO AND KANE BROWN

The artistes used the three words “One thing right” to emphasize the “one time” they were able to make right decisionS, which according to them was the day they met their girlfriends.

The song “One thing right” talks about the troubled state the artistes were in because of their reckless lifestyle. They revealed how much they have hurt people with their words and how they lived wrongly; they did uncountable wrong things and countable good things. They made wrong choices, chased wrong things, went to the wrong places and stayed with the wrong crowd. Their lifestyle was neither the type their parents were pleased with nor the type other parents would want to recommend their daughter for. The way in which they lived their lives was not the type even ladies could cope with. They were emotionally down and  did not have the strength to push on; they almost gave up on themselves.

However, they revealed that their girlfriends were the only ones that were able to notice what they were going through behind the mask. They were the only ones that saw through their pain and did not walk away from them. They are happy that deciding to have them is the “One thing” that they have ever done right. This they sang in the chorus and pre-chorus. View below…

PRE CHORUS

“I’ve been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Chasing all the wrong things most of my life. Been every kinda lost that you can’t find. But I got one thing right. Been the kind of guy girl’s mamas don’t like. Running with the wrong crowd on the wrong nights
‘Cause I’ve been wrong about a million times. But I got one thing right, you”

CHORUS
“(Baby, I got one thing right) hmmm. (Baby, I got one thing right) I got you. (Baby I got one thing tight) I got one thing right”

The song comes in two verses. The pre chorus was taken four times while the chorus thrice. The major instruments used in the song include percussion, drums, guitars  and keyboard.

The video though, I am wondering now that the girl’s father wants to stand as an hindrance to the “One thing right” in his life, what would happen now?

Take a gander at the lyrics below

LYRICS TO ONE THING BY MARSHMELLO AND JANE BROWN

VERSE 1

I’ve cheated and I’ve lied
I’ve broke down and I’ve cried
I’ve got nothing to hide no more
I’ve loved and I’ve hurt
Broken people down with words
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxthan I deserved, for sure

Known to be crazy, known to be wild
Mama had to suffer a little devilish child
Ain’t no stranger to the troubles at my door

PRE CHORUS

I’ve been at the wrong place at the wrong time
Chasing all the wrong things most of my life
Been every kinda lost that you can’t find

Running with the wrong crowd on the wrong nights
‘Cause I’ve been wrong about a million times
But I got one thing right, you

Chasing all the wrong things most of my life
