IG @ogefashlog.

I so love this song! It doesn’t have a fast-tempo beat but it still finds a way to be extremely melodious. The intro tune, in particular, is so catchy; it really got my attention. You just tell me; how can you not love this song? Mbanunu; ko possible (As in, no, it isn’t possible!)

WHAT THEN IS THE MEANING OF DUDUKE AND WHAT IS THE SONG DUDUKE ALL  ABOUT?

There is really no dictionary meaning for “DUDUKE”,  but Simi may have added “Duduke” to an online dictionary with the release of this melodious song titled “DUDUKE.”

Duduke may be a slang that the artiste used to show that her lover is her heart beat, or basically, to express how extremely happy she is to have an interesting and compatible lover.

Duduke is a love song whereby Simi expresses her joy for having a compatible lover. She emphasizes how special he is and how glad she is for choosing him over other guys. She loves him wholeheartedly, respects him, wishes him well and assures him of an unmovable spot in her heart. She likes to be around him and longs for his passionate kiss.

Lyrically: The song has heartwarming lyrics. The lyrics are well written. The song comes in two verses; verse 1 has 6 lines while verse 2 has four lines. The chorus and pre-chorus was taken twice each. The lyrics flow well on the beat. The artiste sang in English but fused it with Pidgin and some Yoruba words like

“Gbo temi” which means hear my words

Ayanfe mi  and Olufe mi which mean my lover

Angeli means angel

Ko duro le ife mi _ Stand/ believe in the love I have for you.”

Simi has a very clear and melodious vocal. The rhythm flows well and she was consistent with the style of rhythm. The major instruments used in this song include drums, piano and shakers. The video was shot outdoor; a beach precisely.

The video though simple but is a spectacular one. I love her belly moves in the 2minutes of the song; lol. With the release of “Duduke video,” the artiste has finally  put an end to speculations about her pregnancy by various news media as this video is clear evidence that she is pregnant for her husband- Adekunle Gold who is also an artiste.

However, the way she constantly touched her tummy, one may be wondering if this is a love song for an unborn child or for a lover. What y’all think?

Take a gander at the lyrics below.
