(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW: KOMAJENSUN BY MOHBAD FT NAIRA MALEY “AWON SET NAIRA MARLEY” +WHY USE A SECONDARY SCHOOL SETTING FOR THIS RU…”

IG @ogefashblog.

Mohbad is obviously signed to Marlian music; set awon Naira Marley. His lyrics would definitely be lewd too. From Mohbad’s song “Komajensun”; it is now evident that anyone that wants to be signed to “Marlian” music must be ready to write lewd lyrics. Because, if you ask me about this ‘Mohbad’s” song lyrically; I would say the song is “so” lewd.

WHAT IS THE SONG KOMAJENSUN BY MOHBAD FT NAIRA MARLEY ABOUT.

Komajensun is a Yoruba word in Nigeria that means “someone did not allow you sleep.” So who is not sleeping well in this song? It’s Mohbad. Why is he not sleeping well? A certain lady would not get her hands off him all through the night as she kept on demanding more sex from him..

So, the song Komajensun is no doubt a sexual song. It talks about the artiste’s inability to sleep when he desires to because the lady he had a fling with keeps disturbing him for more sex. The song also talks about the artiste’s unfaithfulness to his girlfriend in a bid to have sex with another lady.

All the lines in the chorus are sexual. View below

CHORUS

O’n la mi latana, komajensun (She sucked me all tjhrough yesterday and did not allow me sleep)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah komajensun (Yeah (6x) She did not allow me sleep
O’n se funmi latana, komajensun (She did it with me since yesterday; she did not allow me sleep)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah komajensun (Yeah (6x) She did not allow me sleep

For the artistes’ vocals, I really must say that aside the fact their  vocals were not clear enough, it was also not melodic enough; ko dun rara (it was not sweet at all) especially that of Mohbad’s. They were just singing like people that had sore throat.  Also, I had to strain my ears to hear them.

The song comes in three verses; the first and third verses were taken by Mohbad while the second verse was taken by Naira Marley.

In Naira Marley’s verse 2; the line where he said “ She says no to condom” is so unwise and uncalled for. Is he now encouraging people to have a fling without using condom? Is he encouraging a no-condom-sex with a partner that is obviously unfaithful? Rada rada! (Rubbish!)  How can someone say “no-condom” to a lady /guy who animashaun; that is, people that go on sleeping around freely with different people. If you ask me; that is a disease waiting to infect such person

Also, the line Naira Marley said “If you say no lasan; wahala iya eh ni ye (If you ever say no; that’s your problem). This line shows that he doesn’t have feelings or any remorse for women. He believes women are desperate for money and don’t have any choice that to sleep with men to get the money. If you ask me, this particular line is intended to mock all the good girls; especially those who love to abstain from sex till they are married. Naira Marley made it look like if you are forming “Good girl” who doesn’t want sex until after marriage, then that’s your problem because there are other girls willing to fuck them; all those rada rada (rubbish) girls.

Mohbad on his part believes that women are money lovers, and they would do anything “sexually” in particular to collect money. He believes that when a woman is given money, the next thing she should do is to sleep with the person to show appreciation. Mohbad says this is not a sin; how unwise to think that…

The major instruments used in the composition of the song include drums and piano. The video was shot outdoor and the choreographers were dressed in uniform worn by secondary school children. The video quality is average. Does the video complement the track? Well, yes! But why use a secondary school setting for that their rubbish. That’s bringing their pollution into the world of teenagers which is already filled with its own kind of pollution. C Blvck  the “Tingasa” crooner also featured in the visual of this song.

 JUST WONDERING

Awon set Tonto Dike”; what was Mohbad insinuating?

Take a gander at the lyrics below
