Johnny is a melodious song by Nigerian artiste- Yemi Alade who loves to be so “African” in everything she does; talk about costume, language, food, hairstyle and so on. (Wow, I just practically mentioned the examples of culture.)

The song Johny is a 2014 song that has garnered “about” 200 million views (It is not yet on 200 million though, but would soon be). The song “Johnny,” however, is not the most viewed Nigeria music video on Youtube, waymaker by Gospel singer-Synach has surpassed Johnny on Youtube. It has over 140 million views. I am still yet to conclude on the music video with the highest views on Youtube.

ABOUT THE SONG JOHNNY BY YEMI ALADE

The song “Johnny” is about a guy who was a womanizer. Johnny was a liar and was also deceitful. He was having a sexual affair with lots of women. He was holding them down in the name of marriage, meanwhile, he had no serious intention for them, all he just wanted was to have a taste of their middle “vagina” and then walk away.

The actor that acted as Johnny is Nollywood actor- Alex Ekubo. The video also features celebrities like Bovi and Beverly Osu.

The song Johnny has one verse. The chorus and post-chorus were taken thrice while the pre-chorus was taken twice. The pre-chorus, chorus, and post-chorus predominated the song. The lyrics ate detailed and punchy. The beat is solid and tuneful. It is a fast-tempo beat that is catchy. Yemi Alade also has clear and convincing vocal. She sang in pidgin but fused with Igbo, a Nigerian language. There was consistency in the style of rhythm. The major instruments used in the composition of the song include the drums and piano

This video tells a story and the story indeed complements the track; this video is so very interesting to watch. The artiste’s choreography added beauty to the visual; Yemi Alade is indeed a great performer. She is full of vitality.
