IG @ogefashblog.

“South of the border” is a song by Ed Sheeran ft Cardi B and Camila Cabello. There are different definitions for “South of the Border.”

According to Urban dictionary, “South of the border” means sexual penetration whereby the penetrating partner withdraws his or her penetrating organ and coats them in hot sauce an reinsets into the partner which makes the person let out a loud cry “Like sexual cry when enjoying it”

It also means to go below the belt; that is, the genital area. It is also an area in Great Britain- South London. South London is South of the Border to Scotland.

It also means something that went in the wrong. It means something that went terrible that didn’t work out well.

So, which of the above definitions do you think the artistes are referring to then?

ABOUT THE SONG “SOUTH OF THE BORDER” BY ED SHEERAN FT CARDI B, CAMILA CABELLO

The song talks about different things. It talks about sexual desire in an opposite sex and also sexual gratification. This the artistes sang basically in the chorus. View below…

“So join me in this bed that I’m in
And push up on me and sweat, darling
So I’m gonna put my time in
I won’t stop until the angels sing”

“Quiero sentir tu cuerpo en mi, estas temblando (I want to feel your body trembling on me)”

The song also talks about associating with people from other boundaries regardless societal views. It also emphasizes the beauty of women; especially those from Latin America (Latinas) and also the prettiness of men. We can tell from the way Ed Sheeran was drooling over a lady with beautiful features in the verse 1. Ed  says the lady has got “brown eyes, smooth thighs, long hair and a beautiful smile.”

Meaning of the following lines

Drop a ball means to make a mistake or fail in one’s duties

Drive one crazy means to be unstable, unsettled because of what is running through someone’s mind

Push up on me and sweat means to have intense sex with someone

“Drop a album, drop a baby, but I never drop the ball, uh”

The, hmm, brown eyes, beautiful smile
You know I love watching you do your thing

And push up on me and sweat, darling
So I’m gonna put my time in

Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me

Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me

Pull up to my spot in Lamborghini
‘Cause you gotta see me, never leave me
You got a girl that could finally do it all
Drop a album, drop a baby, but I never drop the ball, uh
