(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW- 10000 HOURS BY DAN + SHAY,  JUSTIN BIEBER “WOH! ROUGHLY A YEAR!”

IG @ogefashblog.

How many hours do we have in a month or should I say in a year? If you do your calculation very well, you would find out that if 24 hours, 168 hours, 730 hours, 4380 hours make a day, week, month, 6 months respectively;  then 8760 hours make a year. Woh! So the artistes plan on studying their girlfriends for over a year.

SO WHAT IS THE SONG 10,000 HOURS BY DAN + SHAY AND BIEBER ABOUT?

This is a love song whereby the artistes express how they feel about the ladies they love. They are willing  to know what it takes to win their hearts, so they don’t mind if they spend 10,000 hours (and even more) which equates to “1 year, 1 month and 3 weeks” to  study everything about them. This the artistes want to do in order to get helpful details  about these ladies.

Some of the things they are trying to find out about these ladies is; what excites and makes them happy, what they love doing, what they dream of, if they ever think about them, if they want to settle down with them and so on…

The video complements the track. It is interesting to watch. The trio have appealing vocals. The major instruments used for composing the song include the drums (the cymbal in particular), piano and guitar. The rhythm also flows well and well arranged.

I love Justin Bieber’s expression at the 1 minute 58 seconds of the video; so heart warming.

The song comes in two verses; the first was taken by Dan + Shay and the second- Justin Bieber. The pre chorus was taken twice, while the chorus and post chorus were taken thrice each. The lyrics are well written. The vocabularies used in the song are words that people are familiar with.

I love the fact the the song is not unnecessarily long; brief and tuneful!

LYRICS TO 10000 HOURS BY DAN+SHAY AND JUSTIN BIEBER

 VERSE 1 (DAN+SHAY)

Do you love the rain? Does it make you dance
When you’re drunk with your friends at a party?
What’s your favourite song, does it make you smile?
Do you think of me?

PRE CHORUS

When you close your eyes, tell me, what are you dreaming?
Everything, I wanna know it all ooh

CHORUS

I’d spend ten thousand hours and ten thousand more
Oh, if that’s what it takes to learn that sweet heart of yours
And I might never get there, but I’m gonna try
If it’s ten thousand hours or the rest of my life.

POST CHORUS
I’m gonna love you (ooh, ooh ooh, ooh, ooh)
