No! Burnaboy didn’t win any award in the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards that held on Sunday. He was nominated for Best Music Award alongside Celia Angelique Kidjo
GRAMMY award organisers should continue o, they should continue nominating Nigerians and not giving the award to them. This same category that Burnaboy was nominated for, King Sunny Ade, Seun Kuti and Femi Kuti have been nominated for the category but none of them won.
I don’t know why they do this when they do not have the intention of giving them. What y’all think? Abi na!
And someone is telling me that Burnaboy is a first-timer in the Grammy Award, as in first time nominee in any Grammy award category; ehen, ngba no nko (As in, and so what?). Se oro ni ye? Su biko (Shift please)
Young singer-Billie Eilish that won five awards, is she not a first timer as well ni?
Grammy organisers, just kontinu nu…
Imagine, they are now giving Angelique Kidjo the award. How many of her songs do they know? How many of her songs do I even know? But Burnaboy’s songs na worldwide. Even America’s former first lady- Michelle Obama recognising his beautiful songs added Burnaboy’s song to her 2020 workout playlist. Infact, Burnaboy’s song “My Money My Baby” was number 4 on her playlist.
Biko (please) what is the criteria for selecting winners in Grammy awards? What’s the criteria they used in selecting Celia Angelique Kidjo (Don’t get it twisted, I like Kidjo, but I don’t know many of her songs) as the winner for the Best Music Award? Ko si ba (none right); shotan.
