(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW- OYOYO BY SKALES FT HARMONIZE “HMM! WHAT ARE THEY EVEN OYOYO-ING SELF? +A COLLABORATION; YET I CAN’T SEE NAIJA’S FLAG, BUT TANZANIA’S…

IG @ogefashblog

If I may ask, what exactly are they even oyoyo-ing? (Kindly permit me to use that word).

Oyoyo is a word in Nigeria that connotes “You are welcome”. So I am asking Skales and Harmonize again what the are “oyoyo-ing?” Any reader with an idea about this, kindly share via the comment box.

But if I reason am again (As in deep thinking to get comprehension on something), I am sure the people they are welcoming are the ladies. Hmm! So what exactly are they welcoming the ladies for?

About the song “Oyoyo” by Skales ft Harmonize

Skales is a Nigerian artiste and he features one of Tanzanian’s biggest artiste-Harmonize. The word “Oyoyo” which means welcome is a love song whereby the artistes are pleased to have around them the ladies that they love. They are so in love with them that they are ready to do anything for them; infact they are ready to die on the matter of those ladies. They say the ladies are sweet and they would do anything to protect them.

Oyoyo is a fast pace song and it’s also very danceable as well. The predominant instrument used in delivering this song is the drum. The song is melodious. The artistes have appealing vocals and they were audible enough. The song comes in two verses. The first was taken by Skales who basically sang in Nigerian pidgin while the second verse was taken by Tanzanian singer-Harmonize who sang in Swahili. The chorus was taken thrice by Skales.

The video was shot outside Nigeria; tt is an outdoor shoot. Quite a colourful video; the choice of costume also added to the brightness of the music video. The video is interesting to watch as they were all dynamic; they all (not just the major choreographers) moved to the rhythm even if it was just with their hand They were actually in an empty pool; nice. I am really feeling “Ofcourse Sasha Vybes”

I also gbadun (As in enjoy) their zancu dance. The lyrics to the song are in array and not to complex to decipher.

But wait o; if this is a collaboration between African artistes from different countries, why am I not seeing Nigeria’s flag among those flags displayed in the video; that’s not too good.
