(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION)  MUSIC REVIEW “BALANCE” AND “SILI-KON” BY TIMAYA “AS IN WHERE HAVE I BEEN?” +”WHAT LANGUAGE DID TIMAYA SPEAK IN THAT SILI-KON SONG?’

Instagram @ogefashblog.

Like seriously, where was I when the video for the song “Balance” dropped in February, exactly ten months ago? Se mo ‘n sun ni? (Was I sleeping?). I don’t know o.

But anyway, it is better late than never!

So, let’s talk about the song “Balance” by Timaya before we move to “Sili-kon” by the same artiste

The word “Balance’ in the context of this song means to relax, live a stress free life as well as enjoy one’s hard earned money in the way that pleases the owner.

Timaya for instance says God has bestowed him with music talent which has brought him lots of money. He is singing and people are dancing. He believed in his dreams and that dream has taken him far.

Day in day out, he ensures that he churns out vibes that are interesting to the ears which has overtime made his pocket deep, as in odi (he is) so wealthy.

He is so wealthy that he doesn’t need to struggle again or live a stressful life. Al he does now is relax and enjoy his money the way that pleases him.

So how exactly does Timaya relax?

He just hangs out with friends, flirt with girls, party all day and live large; well done sir (In the voice of #Falzthebahdguy)

The song “Balance” also talks about the way the artiste was rejected when he had no money but as soon as he became wealthy, all started looking for him. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone indeed” (Psalm 118:22)

The major instruments used in the song “Balance” include the drums, piano and percussion. The song is very melodious. The rhythm flows well. The instruments used were in agreement with one another; no conflicting rhythm.

The artistes sang basically sang in pidgin. The song has two verses, although verse 1 was repeated in the latter part of the song. The chorus was taken four times. Na so so “Balance eh” I just dey hear all through the song; even me too “Balance eh”. The video is clear and it features Larry Gaga. The video complements the track and the artiste was expressive as he sang.

NEXT MUSIC REVIEW: SILI-KON BY TIMAYA

(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) SILIKON BY TIMAYA

“Sili-kon” otherwise spelt as “Silicone” is what women usually use to enhance a particular part of their body. There is the silicone butt pads that enhances the bum, there is also the silicone bra.

So what exactly is the song “Silikon” by Timaya about?

Hmmm, I am still trying to figure that out. Maybe Timaya is probably saying that he always has the urge to be around ladies with big bums (Those that wear silicone in particular) and also has the urge to get down with them. Or perhaps, being around ladies with big bums delights him. The artiste says he can’t help himself even though he has tried. The more he tries to  kill the desire to be around such ladies, the more he is drawn to them. What ya think? Kindly hint us via the comment box…

The song has two verses. The pre chorus and chorus were taken thrice each. The major instruments used for composing the song include the harp, piano and drums. The artiste sang in Pidgin and Ikwere I think (One of the languages spoken by Rivers State people in Nigeria).

The visual complements the track. It features controversial OAP –  Daddy Freeze

Ehen, biko (please) my people, I am not sure of the lines in the chorus,

CHORUS

Eyami fada o. Okoba bo do oh, Owomo bodo oh. Fieri brother o

Eyami fada o. Okoba bo do oh. Owomo bodo oh. Fieri brother o

Biko, if you have a better way to write the chorus and also have the translation for the chorus, kindly make use of the comment box….Dalo (Thanks) in advance #Winks
