Slangs have come and gone but one certain slang that has decided to stay is this “I can’t kill my self” which has been made more popular ever since music act “Timaya” used it to sing.
So what is the song “I can’t kill myself” basically talking about
The artiste used the slang “I can’t kill myself” to explain that in as much as he would like to please everybody, he can’t actually please everybody. In essence, no matter how much good you do to people or how nice you are or how modest or how careful you are trying to be; there would always be people with that “Ostrich eyes infact “Giant squid” eyes that would still find errors in you and then criticize you. In simple English it means “You can’t please everyone”
So, live your life to the fullest like Timaya did all through the video.
So why do I feel the song is more popular than the artiste. As in, a lot of people know the song but don’t really know that it was done by Timaya; well just saying.
In the song, the artiste also says it is not people that have gotten him to the place he is but God, hence no one can bring him down.
The song comes in two verses, the chorus was taken thrice. It is neither a slow tempo nor fast tempo song; let’s just say mid tempo. It is not one song that is danceable to, the only catchy and interesting line is the chorus.
The song especially the chorus is melodious and the video complements the track. The artiste sang in pidgin and fused it with some Igbo words, a Nigerian language.
