(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUSIC REVIEW- JEALOUSY BY SHEEBAH “DOPE TRACK”

IG @ogefashblog

“Jealousy is a form of hatred built upon insecurity.”

Of all the songs reviewed this week on Ogefash photo blog, I have been itching to write about this particular song; I really don’t know why. I love this Sheebah’s song! Sheebah Karungi is from Uganda, Kampala.

I wish Nigerian singers Yemi  Alade, Mr. Eazi and Tekno listened to this song first before releasing that rubbish Jealous track on Beyonce’s lion king album; chai; omashe o

Anyway what is the song Jealousy by Sheebah about?

The word jealousy means to envy someone because of his or her possession or otherwise.

The artist- Sheebah says people are envious of her success and wish her career was over. According to her, they are monitoring every of her moves and wishing for her downfall. They wish her relevance in the music industry will be no more but she is however disappointing them as she keeps and is still dishing out hot tunes to the deafening of haters ears. She says she is going nowhere and haters would keep hearing more of her tune.

She says no matter how much they try to pull her down, she would never go down by God’s grace. She says no matter how much they want her dead, she would keep surviving. The artiste says regardless how much they envy her and wish her evil, they can’t stop her shine or quench her fire because God has got her back and always blesses her.

I dey feel Sheebah’s energy upon this track; she was so expressive. I love her costume and this jealousy video is interesting to watch. The rhythm also flows very well. The instruments were not conflicting.  The major instruments used were the drums, shakers and piano.

She sang in pidgin and Ugandan language. It is a fast pace song that comes in three verses. The chorus was sung thrice. I am feeling that guy playing the song in a faster pace with his guitar at the latter part of the song.
