(+LYRICS+TRANSLATION+MUSIC) MUSIC REVIEW: GELATO BY DJ CUPPY FT ZLATAN “WHAT DOES THE SONG GELATO REALLY MEAN?     +WHAT EXACTLY DID YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS SONG?”

IG @ogefashblog.

The word “Gelato” means

an Italian variant of ice-cream made from milk and sugar, combined with other flavouring according to “English dictionary”

In the context of this song “Gelato” as in the “ice-cream” is akin to the sweetness of a lady. The artiste- Dj Cuppy likened herself to an ice-cream. She says she is sweet like an ice-cream. She says a lady that is sweet like an ice-cream, men would always go the extra mile for her. She ways men can take such lady round the world just to have a taste of her.

Also, she says she is ready to spend on that special man wherever he is just for him to have a taste of her “Gelato” -sweetness.

Zlatan’s lyrics basically talks about how significant he is now because he is rolling with the “Big fish” of the society. In essence, he is now associating with powerful and rich people so no one can oppress or dare to attack him. He says whoever tries to come close, would be dealt with.

The song has two verses taken by Zlatan only. The hook was taken by DJ Cuppy while the chorus was taken by Zlatan alone. The artistes both took the pre-chorus ‘Who is your daddy.” I like the flow of rhythm, especially for the pre-chorus and chorus. The song was rendered in pidgin.

Really, if you ask me, this song is okay o. I really don’t know what people are complaining about the song. So, what exactly is your complain about this song? Fill me in via the comment box
