(+LYRICS+TRANSLATION+MEANING) RORA BY REEKADO BANKS “IS RORA NOT TOO SLOW FOR GROOVING! +HE IS A TRUE MAVIN ~ACT”

Reeky Baby aka Reekado Banks should try singing Rora

lyrics on
a fast beat (Not too fast though) before releasing the real video biko! (Please!) It is too slow for grooving. The way he rendered this song, radio stations may not play it to the end and this may kill the love listeners have for the song.

But I really love Rora beat. I love the interlude where the guitar was played; although it was too elongated especially in the latter part of the song.

What is the song Rora about?
The word Rora is a Nigeria Yoruba word that means easy.

This song looks to me like a song talking about sexual love. I dont know the kind of “Ijo” as in “dance” that the girl is dancing; whether it is the normal one done on the dance floor or the bed one; that is, a lady’s movement when having sex with a guy.

Perhaps, Reeky is talking about the latter. He is telling the lady to take it easy with him whenever they are having sex or she should take it easy on the way she is shaking her bum and making him long for her. What ya think?

View some of the lyrics that may indicate sex
If u gree mo ma la tan (If you agree, I would lick it finish) I go fit to change your catwalk (I can change your catwalk) And change your life join Open and close like a laptop o
I no go lie your body gbesss, mo ni lati toyan, toyan, toyan, toyan (I wont lie, your body is on point; I need to have a taste of it) Anytime you holla; make I come thru. I go tell my guys dem I no dey come soon
Baby gimme slow motion In my room; I go give u promotion Je ki ibadi e lo le, ko ma roll 4x (Let your waist go down; let it roll (4x))”

Ehen! Egbami (Save me) o, please what does this line mean?

“Anytime you holla; make I come thru. I go tell my guys dem I no dey come soon”

Was he saying that his friends would also have sex with his lady? What ya think?

Lastly, the way Reekado sang “Open and close like a laptop” is akin to the way his former boss- Don Jazzy sings. He truly learnt from his former master; he is a true Mavin act. You may need to replay the song to understand ihe m na ekwu (as in to understand what I am saying.)

  1. Who’s complaining? Certainly not me, because it is not too slow for me to groove to. By the way, DJs can always make it faster when playing it at parties that always want to hear fast songs alone. But honestly, the song is good the way it comes.
