(+LYRICS + TRANSLATION+ MEANING) MUSIC REVIEW: WHAT I SEE BY PHYNO FT DUNCAN MIGHTY “WHAT’S THE MEANING OF…”

IG @ogefashblog
“What I see” is

a song by Nigerian artitse~ Phyno from his new album “Deal with it.” He features Wene Duncan Mighty on this track.

The artistes basically talk about how they are working hard to make good money so that they can become significant in life and be well respected in the society.

According to the artistes, though they are not from a wealthy background, their hard work and God’s love has brought wealth their way.

They say even if they don’t have money there would always be liquor for celebration; in essence they would keep celebrating with good people. They are not bothered by what haters say or do, as far as there is God’s love and love of genuine fans around them, every other thing is invisible to them.

They refer to their haters as losers while they refer to themselves as winners.

The song “What I see” has two verses. The first was taken by Phyno while the second by Duncan. The chorus was taken twice by Duncan Mighty. The beat is similar to that of “Father father” by Phyno. The visual to this song has not been released.

The artistes sang mostly in Igbo, though they sang in pidgin too.

Ehen! Biko nu (please), what is the meaning of these lines…

“O me nuko ijide mekazia (Iye Iye Iye)

Aso kuke kuru no ro eme nuwa nona nunu wene o xxxxxxxxxxxxx (What I see is love oh, love oh, love oh)

Amuru nono meze manu menelu ono nuwa o (What I see is love oh, love oh love oh)

E wai po (iye iye iye) E wai po o (iye iye iye)

  1. Nice translation. I think this is the best I’ve seen so far.

    However, Duncan Mighty spoke Ikwerre, though it sounds like Igbo. Some words I could decode are;
    Oro – House
    Iwai – Money
    Wene badu – My brother

Duncan Mighty is one artiste that always flags the Port Harcourt and Ikwerre brand in every song he makes or is featured in.
