This track is so on repeat for me; I just yelled that. Mad jam mhen! I don’t know why great tunes always have small views on Youtube. Is it that people don’t know that the video is out? This song should have over 10 million views, not thousands rara (at all). Click here to be among the million watcher

Among all the songs in the catalog to be reviewed for this week, my hands were itching to review this “Bolanle” song. I just played and danced to the song non-stop like say tomorrow no dey.

What is the song “Bolanle” about

The song is about a lady-Bolanle who was dating a very stingy man and suffered financially.

From these lines in the Verse 1, we call tell that Bolanle’s boyfriend is greatly stingy…

“She get e boyfriend, e too dey kaku. (Her boyfriend is thrifty)

She get e boyfriend, omo ijebu eh (Her boyfriend is stingy)”

Bolanle’s story however changed and her life turned around when she met a new guy who not only showered her with money but also showed her love and care. Doors started opening for Bolanle which brought more income her way.

Hence, “Bolanle pepper dem” means that since Bolanle is now rich, successful, and her level has changed beyond people’s imaginations, there would be people hating on her. So, the song encourages Bolanle to keep succeeding in a way that it would pain her haters and make them envious of her.

Why do I feel this song would be most played after a winner is declared for the Season 4 of Big Brother Naija reality show.

Anyway, still on the song “Bolanle,” I really love the beat; very  interesting to the ears and capable of making everybody including a new born baby rolltheir waste#winks. I also love the video, simple but spectacular.  I love all the dance steps of Zlatan and Bolanle especially their “komole” dance at the 11 seconds, 56 seconds and 2 minutes 32 seconds of the song.. The song comes in two verses. The chorus was sung twice while the post chorus four times. I really love Bolanle’s high spirit in the video; this video is interesting to watch, trust me.

Although, I feel this video portrays women as money lovers. It makes it look like women are only in a relationship for the sake of getting money from their men. You can see Bolanle’s reaction after she saw a rich guy on her DM and she decided to hook up with him because of his money. Perhaps, the reason her former boyfriend was stingy was because Bolanle fe reck e (Bolanle wants to empty him); winks

But all in all, I really love the song. I love the flow of rhythm; so melodious

Take a gander at the lyrics below
