SYNOPSIS TO THE MOVIE SHAFT
Everywhere John Shaft (Acted by Samuel L Jackson) is there must always be a gun fight between him and his attackers. This frustrates his wife- Maya as she is not willing to lose their only son because of the numerous people seeking to attack him. Wanting to avoid future attacks, John Shaft with wife- Maya Babanikos (Acted by Regina Hall) relocate to Harlem with their toddler son JJ (Acted by Jessie T Usher (Adult). However, it seems like John Shaft’s attackers also relocated with him because as he lands in Harlem with his family, there is another gun fight between him and other attackers sent by a drug baron “Gordito” Carrera (Acted by Isaach De Bankole) which leaves a lot of people dead
Would Maya still tag along with her husband? Will John Shaft survive the gun fight? Will he be able to protect his only son-John Junior? Find out here…
PLOT
It is the year 1989. Both Maya (Acted by Regina Hall) and her husband John Shaft (Acted by Samuel L Jackson) relocate to Harlem to avoid any harm. However, they are also followed to Harlem by people that want to harm them. While Maya quarrels John non-stop about his dirtiness, his refusal to open a bank account, his not listening habit and his lack of respect for her, a gun is fired at their vehicle. John Shaft quickly hunts for the shooters. A shootout ensues between John Shaft and his attackers which leaves all the attackers of John Shaft and family dead. John Shaft searches one of the men and discovers that the attackers are from Pierro Gordito Carrera (Acted by Isaach De Bankole). John returns to his wife Maya where they both check the back seat of their vehicle to verify the safety of their only son John Junior. They are relaxed when they find him smiling and unscathed. Maya unable to take any more gun- fight surprises, part ways with John Shaft.
In 1994, 5 years after Maya and John Shaft parted ways, Maya hands her 5 years old son- John Junior aka JJ (Acted by Jordan Preston Carter) different Christmas gifts which includes one from his Dad John Shaft. JJ seems more fascinated and interested in John Shaft’s gift than any other gift shown to him by his mum; this doesn’t leave Maya with a smile as she quickly hands him another gift so he could let go of his father’s gift.
