Her poise is what you can refer to as stylish, gallant, dapper, weighty and that of substance. She is self-motivated, self- determined, self-contained and very modest.  She is focused and she is a goal-getter. She is a well respected woman, when she speaks, everyone listens. When she speaks, it is always like a thousand powerful women have spoken, but she is just “one” woman that commands respect. Her words are worth weight in gold; as in they are not only valuable, they are life transforming. Our celebrity focus is on the quiet side, she doesn’t make noise like her counterpart who may even be substance-less but still choose to be noisy. She is among the female celebrities with no tainted image or controversies. She is Africa’s Oprah Winfrey and Forbe’s Africa’s most successful woman; she is no one but the elegant, inspiring, driven and record breaker Mo Abudu.


Mo Abudu as she is fondly called hails from Ondo State but was not born there. She was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Akintunde in Hammersmith hospital, West London in September 11th, 1964 as Mosunmola Lawrence Akintunde. True to her name “Mosunmola” awon eyan eleyi ni otitan sunmo ola (People like her are truly close/surrounded with wealth) Mo lost her father at the age of eleven after which she, her mother and her two younger sisters returned to Nigeria in 1983.

However, Mo Abudu did all her education outside Nigeria. She schooled at the Ridgeway School, MidKent College and West Kent College . She also gained a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster in London.

Mo Abudu is everything. She is a mother, Talk Show Hostess, TV producer, Film maker, Media Entrepreneur, Philantrophist, Achiever, Human Resource Management Consultant and Venture Capitalist.


Mo Abudu was once married to Tokunbo Abudu, a lawyer and businessman, but the marriage was short lived. They have a daughter and a son,  Temidayo Abudu (Now married to Adebola Makanjuola) and  Adekoyejo Abudu. She lives in lagos. She loves her family  and spends ample time with them whenever she is at home.


She is a talk show hostess and a TV producer. She is one woman I have always admired and drawn inspiration from right as a teenager when I used to crave to be one of Moment with Mo audience back in those days. She is the brain behind Moments with Mo; a TV talk show which she hosts as well as produces. On “Moment with Mo” talk show, attention grabbing topics on politics, entertainment and lifestyle are talked about in a fascinating manner. Aside the scores of intelligent people carefully selected to be audience on the program, Mo Abudu interviews great minds and tenacious people on her show; she basically interviews any individual making impact in his or her field; whether known or unknown and makes them conspicuous. She has had top politicians, actors, models and musicians on the show. She has even interviewed the US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton; so now you understand when I say she is a woman that is highly respected and honored.

She produced a reality TV show titled “The Debator” which was fully sponsored by GTB in 2009 to promote oratory.

She produced an award winning documentaries titled- Naija Diamonds, to celebrate unsung heroes in Nigeria. This was sponsored by Diamond back then, which has now been acquired by Access bank Nigeria.


She is also a film maker, hence the reason for setting up Ebony Life films in 2014 which has seen the release of top notch movies like

Fifty (2015), The Wedding Party (2016), The wedding party 2 (2017), The Royal Hibiscus Hotel (2017), Chief Daddy (2019) and TV shows like Desperate Housewives Africa

 Prior before venturing into film making, Mo took a course in London Film School to learn the art of directing and production in order to understand the basics of movie making.


She is also a media entrepreneur, human resource management consultant and venture capitalist. She is the first female in Africa and all over the world to launch a Television Station “Ebony life TV” on DSTV in 2006. The station which has millions of viewers and has a strong backing by Cross Rivers State Government


She is one with a heart of gold. She is a philanthropist which is quite evident on the cash and gifts she always give to her audience. She has a foundation known as Inspire Africa Foundation. The foundation also has a charity store and a children’s shelter called ‘The Harbor’ where they cater for street children.

Her substance valued at the highest rate will always amount to 100 percent- talk about her cars, houses, attires, and conglomerate. Mo is one of the co-owners of these 5- star hotels Protea Hotel and Oakwood Park, Lekki Expressway, Lagos. She is also the Founder of Vic Lawrence & Associates, now one of Nigeria’s leading Outsourcing firms and media. She has a black Mercedes Benz SUV priced over N20m.

Born in the 80’s, Ogefash picked up writing early in her secondary school days at International School, University of Lagos (Unilag). She took it professionally after her university days at the University of Lagos where she graduated from the Department of Mass Communication. She is a writer of several short stories some of which have been published in the magazines. Some of her popular stories are: A Night to Remember, The Special Gift, Haunted, Preparing Ahead of Time amongst others. Her novel "Looming Danger" published in December 2015, was highly recommended by people. She has worked with several media outlets some of which are Spur Magazine and Upcoming Magazine. She is an educationist. With her love for children, she took up the task of supervising and taking care of children at the After School Department of Heritage School before her resignation. Her unique strory telling and song teaching skills endeared her more to the kids she worked with. Ogefash is a goal getter, a pace setter and always strives for excellence. She likes to impact and solve problems in a creative way regardless how challenging they may be. She has in-depth knowledge in reporting, editing, social media and other media related works. She is a seasoned writer and very passionate about her work. Interestingly, her blog is the first in Nigeria to start reviewing Nigerian and foreign movies and also write the movies' plots scene by scene. Ogefash blog is also the first to translate songs, interprete and give a full detailed analysis about music and artistes in Nigeria, Africa and America before other blogs started emulating her style. While other blogs provided just music lyrics alone, we took it higher by not only providing lyrics, but translating, interpreting and analyzing as well. It is also the first blog to give detailed analysis of adverts. Interestingly, Ogefash blog also known as Ogefash Photo Blog is the first blog all over the world to blog with lots of interesting pictures to support all articles. Ogefash says "I don't keep male friends because they always say "sex" is part of friendship. I don't keep female friends because they are always bitchy. I only keep people I can call more than a friend!" Ogefash has an affinity for TV reality shows. In 2018, she represented Nigeria in the PanAfrican TV reality game show "The Maltavator Challenge" powered by Nigeria's number one malt drink packed full of energy giving vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6;Malta Guinness. The show brought together four African countries Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia and Coted'ivoire who competed for the grand prize of 20,000 dollars. Undaunted by any task in her field, Ogefash is highly energetic and creative. She is a rare gem and a gift to this generation.
