Ah ah, husband and wife in real life yet they couldn’t even share a minute kiss even if na 40 seconds kiss self. Wo tie le kiss abi peck rara (They couldn’t even kiss or peck at all). Even vixens that are featured in music videos one way or the other get kissed by the artiste not to talk of a duet song performed by a real couple; somehow though.

Okay, let’sput that aside, but this song is done! Nna mehn, odi lit. (It is excellent) I really the lyrics, beat and their appealing voices. The video is awesome too; they were so soulful, but the shots are not too bright.

Ever since I listened to this song, it keeps playing in my head even when I am not playing it on my system. I believe this is another song that ought to be on all Dj’s love playlist on radio, television stations, parties etc and it should be on repeat. I just don’t why some people fail to recognize and appreciate good music. I really need more views for the song here.

THE REVIEW

I totally love this song! However, I don’t know why the artistes whom we all know are married refuse to share even if it is just a papapa (Quick) kiss in the video. Fine, in the video, they were both having much fun together and enjoyed each other’s presence, but that was still not enough for me. No smushes, kisses, no hmm hmm, you know now. What ya think?

Lyrically, the song is so on point. Well written lyrics I must say! The lyrics are detailed, heartwarming and meaningful. It is a love song whereby the artistes tell fans their union is ordained by God and they vow to stay with each other as well as remain faithful to each other in good and bad times.

The song comes in two verses, the first was taken by Simi and the second verse by Adekunle Gold. The pre chorus was taken twice, the chorus four times while the bridge was taken once. The couple sang both in Yoruba (A Nigerian language) and in English.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the Verse 1 “I’m scared of falling (Got you)’ It is not certain the ‘fall” the artiste- Simi is referring to. It is either the artist means that she is afraid of having intense feelings for Adekunle in order not to be heart broken or she is afraid of taking their love life so far in order not to be heart broken or she is talking about the fear of being hurt. But in all, she says she is willing to take any risk for Adekunle’s sake..

“But I will fall a thousand miles for you”

In the Pre- chorus “Halle, Halle, Hallelujah, Edumare lo so wa po (The Lord joined us)” both Simi and Adekunle agree that their union is by God and so they trust in God and in each other. They are confident of their love for each other. They are willing to make each other happy.

In the Chorus “You know I go stand by you, I go stand by you” the artistes promise to be faithful to each other as well as support each other at all times irrespective of the situation. They further say there is no one on earth they want to be with other than themselves.
In the Verse 2 “Bi ina b’anjo oh oh (If fire is burning)” Adekunle wants an assurance from Simi that even when there are challenges, she would still stay with him and never leave. To which Simi already replied in the chorus. He asks her to trust him. He vows to always be there for her and to always make her happy
In the bridge, “Mose ileri kan fun e” the artistes vow to be faithful to each other and also please each other.

So soulful, melodious; their vocals were so appealing. I love the beat drums, the piano, guitar, trumpet and shakers; they made the song interesting to hear. I love the flow of rhythm, so rhythmic and pronounced.

I love Simi’s vocal when she was taking the pre-chorus ‘Halle hallelujah, edumare lo so wa po”; omo I trip oh.
