(+LYRICS+TRANSLATION+MEANING) MUSIC REVIEW: STARTED BY IGGY IZILEA “WHAT EXACTLY IS THE MORAL IN THIS IGGY’S VIDEO?’

IG @ogefashblog

If you are familiar with the rap genre, you would know that it is typical of rappers to always rap about haters; they always rap about haters.

In the song “Started” by Iggy Izilea,  The artiste brags about taking over the industry from those that were there before, she even says people no longer take note of others but her.

Iggy also talks about how she kicked start her music career from the lowest point without much help from anyone, but through her struggles, hard work, determination and persistence,  she was able to break through and also become wealthy. The artiste says irrespective of how challenging it was for her at the initial stage, she did not lose focus or let anything  hinder her progress. She also talks about the ability to get whatever she wants without any delay.

She also brags about of her expensive purchases in terms of houses, lands, wrist watches and so on.

She further uses the song to lash out those beefing her,  she says no matter how much beef they have for her, they have no choice but to love her swag. She warns haters not too come close to her so they do infect her with their attitude.

Iggy Izilea strikes me as one artiste that teaches people not to be remorseful even if they do wrong. If you watched the video “Little sally walker” where a young lady was hit by a female driver, the person that hit her was not even remorseful. Instead she said “Did your mama not warn you not to…….

Now in this video, it appears to me like she married an old man in order to inherit his property. She killed him and took over all his properties. So what exactly is the moral in the video? Is she people who marry old billionaires to kill them? Or is she trying to tell us that she did something similar before becoming rich? Or did she act as a gold diger in the song? Just wondering though, what ya think? Kindly let me know through the comment box

“Die slow cake co. Easy bake cakes Just add wine. Price $19.99. New flavor- gold diggers gantiche “If you are in the will, we will find a way” Call now 1833-  daddys- dead”

CHORUS

I started from the bottom and now I’m rich
I got in my bag and I ain’t looked back since
I started to say sorry, but fuck that shit
You started out hating, now you love my drip
I started from the bottom and now I’m rich
I got in my bag and I ain’t looked back since
I started to say sorry, but fuck that shit
You started out hating, now you love my drip

VERSE 1

Ayy, bitch, they looking at me, they not looking at you
I don’t mean to be rude, I’m a ten, you a two
He be blowing me up like a fucking balloon
I just tell him give me space like the man on the moon
You know that I’m the best, is that why you depressed?
Say you getting a check, girl, you be fronting like breasts
I look good for myself, I got no one to impress
You better ask your GPS, I ain’t the one to address
Lil’ bitch, look

VERSE 2

Do you hate that you love me or do you love that you hate me?
All you bitches be biting, I hope you don’t give me Rabies
You can say what you want about me as long as you pay me
I’m just tryna get them M’s and I ain’t talking Slim Shady
Bitch don’t look at me crazy or you’ll be pushing up daisies
On this watch I spent 80, got me lit up like Las Vegas
Yeah, my house is so big, I’m sitting on acres and acres
I have never seen my neighbours, no do-rag but Iggy wavy
God damn!
