CHORUS

You made it hurt too much.
Hope you got, hope you got, everything you want.
Pray to God, pray to God.
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted)

So much for the love
Hope she got, hope she got, everything I’m not.
Pray to God, pray to God
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted)

VERSE 1

You cut me open, I cried oceans
All I wanted was devotion; I got nothing
Hope you are happy with your new bitch
How you living? I’m in Paris in Marc Jacobs, life’s amazing
When she leave you for your best friend; that shit karma
When you see me with my new dude; that’s a come up
Yeah, you used to have the baddest
Looking lavish, dipped in karats
Only want me back when you can’t have me.

BRIDGE

I used to do it all for you
I used to give it all to you

CHORUS

You made it hurt too much
Hope you got, hope you got, everything you want
Pray to God, pray to God
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted)

So much for the love
Hope she got, hope she got, everything I’m not
Pray to God, pray to God
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted)

VERSE 2

You don’t even know what you did to me. Tears fall like rain, man
You broke my heart baby, literally; I just can’t take it
Couldn’t eat, sleep for days. Had my mind going four ways
Bottle of Jack half-empty. In and outta bed, sitting in the hallway
You don’t know the tears that I cried. You don’t want to see my dark side
Had my mind going psycho. Hated that you wasted my time
Friends thought I was insane
Almost tatted your name
Ask God to do to you what you did to me. At night when I pray.

BRIDGE

I used to do it all for you
I used to give it all to you

CHORUS

You made it hurt too much
Hope you got, hope you got, everything you want
Pray to God, pray to God (Pray to God, baby)
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted)

So much for the love
Hope she got, hope she got (Hope she got everything I’m not), everything I’m not
Pray to God, pray to God
That she leave you broken, broken (Hearted) (Broken)
Like you left me broken, broken (Hearted) (Broken)

OUTRO

Every day I hope you’re broken-hearted (Hearted)
Every night I hope you’re broken-hearted (Hearted)
Every day I hope you’re broken-hearted (Hearted)
Yeah, broken-hearted (Hearted)
Woo-ah!
(Hearted, hearted, hearted)

THE REVIEW

“Every day I hope you’re broken-hearted (Hearted)” is the right set of prayers for those men that love to break women’s hearts #Winks. I love this song lyrically!

Lyrically, the song comes in two verses. The verse two is lengthier than the verse 1. The verse two. The chorus was sung thrice while the bridge was sung twice. This song is properly arranged. The song is meaningful as it talks about the emotional pain Kim is going through after her boyfriend broke her heart.

The song arrangement: Chorus- Verse 1- Bridge- Chorus- Verse 2- Bridge- Outro

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the chorus “You made it hurt too much” We can tell that Kim Petras is really suffering from emotional pain; she is wounded emotionally after her boyfriend left her for another lady despite her faithfulness to him and despite how much she showed him love. She wonders if his new lover is better than her. Pained by the break up, she prays to God to also make her ex-boyfriend suffer a heartbreak in the hands of his new lover just like he is making her to suffer.

In the verse 1, “You cut me open” the artiste still talks about the emotional pain she is suffering after her boyfriend said he was not interested in her anymore. She said she longed for his affection but she did not get it. She said her boyfriend would reap the hearbreak he sowed into her life, in essence, whoever he dates would also end up leaving him. This she sang in this line “When she leave you for your best friend; that shit karma.” She however tries to paint a picture of her living fine and happy without him but with another dude;  to show that she has moved on and doesn’t need him.

In the bridge “I used to do it all for you” Kim Petras lets us know that she satisfied her ex-boyfriend in all ways. She did all a woman would do to make a relationship work and keep her man.

In Verse 2 “You don’t even know what you did to me” the artiste emphasizes how she is deeply hurt. She says after her ex-boyfriend left her for another, she cried non-stop, couldn’t eat, began drinking excessively and suffered insomnia which made people think she was going crazy. Kim is sad because the years she wasted years with her ex-boyfriend.

WHAT DOES THE SONG “BROKEN” BY KETRAS MEAN

According to the English dictionary, the word broken means “Split”

Broken in the context of the song talks about the emotional state in which the artiste is in after her boyfriend decided to quit the relationship. We can tell that she is heartbroken as she says she is unable to sleep, eat, but cries often after he left her. It is a song on heartbreak.  The artiste however prays that another lady breaks her ex-boyfriend’s heart just like he broke hers.

MEANING OF SOME WORDS
