(+LYRICS+MEANING+TRANSLATION) MUISC REVIEW: COLD IN LA BY WHY DON’T WE “THESE GUYZ REMIND ME OF BACKSTREET BOYZ”

@ogefashblog

First of all, these guyz or should I say ”Why don’t we”  band really remind me of the Backstreet Boyz.  They also remind me of Westlife. Who else do they remind you of? Fill me in plizzzzzz #Winks

Moving on, this is the first time any of their songs will be reviewed on Ogefash blog. I have listened to a couple of their songs like “Unbelievable” and “Don’t change; I must confess, they really sound great. Meanwhile, I noticed that one of them really looks like Bruno Mars (You can view his picture below). But that’s a talk for another day.

So I am wondering, why the band name “Why don’t we”, this is actually the first time I am hearing about them; I think they should have been more creative with the “band” name. If no name is popping up for them, then, they they should just use the first letter of their names to form the band name; what ya think.

Enough about the artistes “Why don’t we.” So, let’s talk about the song “Cold in LA”

The song is no doubt a love song. It basically talks about how the artistes so yearn for the presence of a particular lady around them. The artistes implore this lady not to leave them but stay with them because of the warmth her presence provides. This is obvious from the chorus “Don’t walk away, ’cause it’s cold in LA”

Hmmm! Why does it look to me that the band “Why don’t we” need more than her presence to keep them company, perhaps, they also need her body upon their bodies; perfect warmth right?

Now I understand, they probably only need that lady when it is cold in LA so that they can rock each other’s body, that was why they pleaded with her not to leave them #Winks!

Great tune! I love their modulation at the 2 minutes 58 seconds of the song. They have really got rich vocals. Their vocals are very pleasing to the ears. I love the cinematography. The song comes in 2 verses, although verse 1 is lengthier than verse 2. The pre-chorus and chorus were sung three times respectively.

Kindly take a gander at the lyrics below

LYRICS TO COLD IN LA BY WHY DON’T WE

VERSE 1

I’m a little bit shy
I’m a little bit right on time
And I know that you don’t operate the same
Are you feeling alright?
‘Cause I really can’t tell sometimes
I wanna know what’s going on inside your brain
Just come a little bit closer
‘Cause I don’t know if I know you yet
Yeah, there seems to be something new everyday
Why do I really wanna hold you?
Why do I want you so bad?
Yeah, you’re beautiful but something’s in my way

PRE CHORUS

Yeah, we started with a good night
Then it turned to day
Never thought that we would
Ever say the things we say
To each other but we’re
Here, just staring face to face
Why don’t you just stay with me?

CHORUS

Don’t walk away
‘Cause it’s cold in LA
Every time that you leave me behind
Just stay at my place
‘Cause I can tell by the way
You’re looking at me, you’ll be fine

 VERSE 2

Is your body talking?
‘Cause you don’t know what to say
Do you do this often?
Is it all just a game to you
I’m wondering
Never seen this sort of thing
Am I the only one you came to see?

PRE CHORUS

Yeah, we started with a good night
Then it turned to day
Never thought that we would
Ever say the things we say
To each other but we’re
Here, just staring face to face
Why don’t you just stay with me?

CHORUS

Don’t walk away
‘Cause it’s cold in LA
Every time that you leave me behind
Stay at my place
‘Cause I can tell by the way
You’re looking at me, you’ll be fine

Oh oh oh oh oh oh(2x) You’ll be fine either way
Oh oh oh oh oh ohBut I wish you’d stay
No, no, no no! Oh-oh-oh oh oh oh

PRE CHORUS

Yeah, we started with a good night
Then it turned to day
Never thought that we would
Ever say the things we say
To each other but we’re
Here, just staring face to face
Why don’t you just stay with me?

CHORUS/OUTRO

Don’t walk away (Uuh)
‘Cause it’s cold in LA
Every time that you leave me behind
Just stay at my place (Stay at my place, oh)
‘Cause I can tell by the way
You’re looking at me, you’ll be fine
You’ll be fine either way

‘Cause it’s cold in LA
Every time that you leave me behind (You’ll be fine either way)

Stay at my place
Cause I can tell by the way (But I wish you’d stay)
You looking at me, you’d be fine
