@ogefashblog

“How can I stand here with you and not be moved by you” is a popular line in the song “Everything” by Life house; so I am asking the same question, how can you stand and listen to this spirit-filling song titled “My trust is in you” by David G and not be moved? Ko le work! (It can’t work!)

Kindly take a gander at the lyrics below before the main review…

THE REVIEW

This is one song you just have to love even if you are not a gospel music fan. I love the intro; so very atmospheric.

Lyrically the song is a one-directional song whereby the artist repeats the line “My trust is in you.” I can categorically tell you that he said “My trust is in you” in this song like 30 times. Okay, I just counted how many times, it was about 25 times.Do you doubt me? Then listen to the vibe again…

The song arrangement: Verse 1- Chorus- Verse 2- Verse 3- Chorus- Chorus- Outro

The song is inspiring and meaningful as it talks about the artiste’s confidence in God.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the Verse 1, “Lion of Judah, my trust is in you”; Verse 2 “Isi nkedu (The living water)…” and the Verse 3 “Master of the universe, my trust is in you” David G basically calls God awesome names to honor and reverence him. He also says he has confidence in God in matters of his life.

In the chorus, “Ehh; I put them on you” the artiste reiterates with much emphasis that he places his trust in God while calling him sweet names.

LOCATION

The video was shot in Nigeria. It was an indoor shoot and the place looks so much like a factory.

SOUND

It is  a slow tempo song although the drum beats were not exactly soft. The artiste sang expressively to the beat. He also used  catchy words “My trust is in you”. His vocals are expressive, confident and convincing. The instrumentals are rhythmic. The drums and piano used in the composition of the song made it interesting to the ears.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
I love this video; a very unique concept. Quality video and great lightning! The opening scene is so atmospheric and captivating.  It is a video different from the usual video concept employed by Nigerian artistes.
