THE REVIEW

Woh woh! What can I say about this song other “ o funny gan” as in it is so funny.

Here is a song for the sugar mummies; no be person wey get sugar pass dey win the  young boy o, for this song, na person wey get the stamina pass dey go home with the boy; so funny.

Lyrically, the lyrics are like empty as in so weak, but the title of the song “Sugar mummy” and the video gives a proper interpretation of what the song is about. There is only one verse in the song. The pre-dominant things in the song are the chorus, post-chorus and hook which were taken twice.

The song basically talks about the struggle, contest or battle for what one wants. In the song two ladies (Acted by Teni and Eniola Badmus) had to contend with each other to get a young man.

Song arrangement: The Intro- Hook- Chorus- Post Chorus- Verse 1- Chorus- Post Chorus- Hook- Outro.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the intro “O ti ri nkan knan (You have not seen anything) Teni is basically warning those misbehaving. She tells them to have common sense and move gently else she would deal with them.

In the hook “ Oh baby ba mi ni sa le” the artiste dares those that they think they can wrestle with her in terms of dance, stubbornness and jump to meet her on the battle ground if they are capable of defeating her.

In the Chorus “Sugar mummy, sugar mummy” the artist basically talks about what sugar mummies and sugar daddies do to their young sexual partners which is basically have sex and then send lots of money to them.

In the Post Chorus “Yokoko Yokoko; eyan yokozuna (Fat person)” the artiste was basically emphasizing the weight of someone. Perhaps, she was trying to compare one who is fat with someone who is of slim frame.

In the Verse 2 “Dubai Dubai, Shopping Shopping” the artiste basically talks about how those “Sugars” as in Sugar mummy and daddy spoil their sexual partners materially and financially. They can take them to Dubai for shopping as long as they are satisfying them sexually.

WHAT IS THE SONG “SUGAR MUMMY” BY TENI ABOUT
The word Sugar mummy means an older woman who is having a sexual relationship with someone much younger and equally taking care of his financial and material needs.

Hence the song sugar mummy by Teni is about two sugar mummies (Acted by Teni and Eniola Badmus) who contend with each other to have a younger boy to themselves.

MEANING OF SOME WORDS

Sugar daddy– A sugar daddy is an older man who keeps a sexual relationship with someone much younger and equally spends on the person.

Sugar mummy– A sugar mummy is an older woman who keeps a sexual relationship with someone much younger and equally spends on the person.

LOCATION

The video was shot in Nigeria; the ghetto hood. It is an outdoor shoot.

COSTUME

This costume dikwa (is) funny. I really don’t know what to make out of their costume. Any idea, fill me in biko in the comment box.

SOUND

This is a fast tempo beat. The artiste was very expressive with her vocals. It has the hiphop beat. The major instruments used in the song are the piano, drum and the trumpet.

VIDEO

The video is funny and very interesting to watch. However, the images are blurry; poor video quality.

However, the video complements the track.
