Leanna is with her stylist and mum’s best friend – Mrs. Smith (Acted by Wendy C. Reavis). Mrs. Smith fist of all complains about one of her new staff- Nelly whose hair is always untidy despite the fact that she works in a salon. Mrs. Smith advices Leanna to get the alopecia she has off her chest. She wonders why Leanna makes it seem like she lost an arm. Leanna then narrates to Mrs. Smith her experience when she first discovered her alopecia and how people in her school, community made jest of her. She also tells her that her relationships are always short-lived after the men in her life discover she has alopecia. Mrs. Smith encourages Leanna telling her that one day, God would bring an handsome man her way. Leanna who is tired of people telling her to get over her alopecia problem lashes out at Mrs. Smith who is much older than her but Mrs. Smith scolds her in return.

As Leanna steps out of Mrs. Smith’s shop, she stumbles on a guy- Terrence (Acted by Michael Cercone) who seems to have immediately taken interest in her. He follows Leanna to her car just to get her name, but Leanna shuns him.

Leanna stylishly invites her pal- Robin (Acted by Yesse Rodrigyuez) to a party full of children making her believe it is an adult party.

At a party put together by Leanna’s mum- Gloria Hillmen (Acted by Nicolle Godette Murell), Robin walks in to discover that it is children’s party. She is upset and is about leaving when Leanna pleads with her to stay. While still trying to persuade Robin to stay, Terrence walks in to deliver some snacks from his aunt- Mrs. Smith to Mrs. Hillmen.  Leanna tries to avoid him by claiming busy with the kids. She also tries to run to her mum who pushes her back to Terrence. Robin who knows Leanna is trying to avoid Terrence because she has alopecia offers to stay back to help with the kids in the party so that her friend can hang out with Terrence.

Both Leanna and Terrence go out together where they talk about their past, growing up and school days. They get to know more about each other. Terrence tells Leanna that Mrs. Smith is his aunt. They both dance into the night.

At Leanna’s place of work, her boss (Acted by Delynn Terry) introduces a new staff- Tasha Sprinkles (Acted by Nikkita Donyal Johnson). Tasha promises to bring victory to the team’s new project. Leanna is picked by the boss as the leader of the new project which everybody is happy about except Tasha.

Tasha goes over to meet the boss to let her know that she is not happy about the choice of leadership as she expected the boss to make her the team leader and not Leanna.

Leanna goes for a checkup at the center. Both Leanna and her nurse talk about her last Date- Brandy who abandoned her after discovering she has alopecia. The woman advises Leanna not to worry too much. She then tells Leanna to take her pain medication to relieve her of headaches. She tells her to return for injection in 6 weeks time to help stimulate hair growth.

Robin follows Leanna to her church but she seems disinterested in the service as she dozes off. Leanna alone is listening to the pastor- (Acted by Brick Jackson) preach. She is enjoying the preaching but when the pastor picks a scripture in the bible that talks about a man’s long hair being a shame unto him and  a woman’s hair being a glory to her; she becomes sad. After service, a woman approaches Leanna and encourages her to tap into the word.

Terrence stops by at Leanna’s office with some flowers. He picks Leanna up and then takes her out. Tasha sights them and she is infuriated. Apparently, Terrence is Tasha’s ex and they both have a son. Tasha suddenly becomes jealous of Leanna as she feels she has first of all taken over the team leadership role she so much wants and now her man.

Day in day out, Leanna and Terrence get closer to each other. As they sit outdoor to chat, Terrence wonders why Leanna quit college. When he asks her about it, Leanna suddenly remembers the argument with her mum about quitting college because she has alopecia and feels she is ugly. Terrence questions make her uneasy.

Leanna apologies to Terrence for her earlier behaviour and he accepts her apology.

Tasha tries to make Leanna jealous in front of the whole staff.  She pretends not to be aware of Leanna’s relationship with Terrence. In front of the whole staff she asks Robin if it is okay to say yes to the marriage proposal of the father of her son. She even goes as far as calling Terrence name in order to scare off Leanna. Robin who doesn’t like her tells her that she would think about it.

At the pool side, Leanna is feeling so uncomfortable. She tries to tell Terrence about her alopecia as well as ask him about Tasha. She also tries to tell him she has alopecia. But before she is able to say anything to Terrence, he pulls her into the pool. This scares Leanna who feels her wig will fall off and Terrence would end up discovering that she has alopecia. Inside the pool, Leanna holds on to her wig non-stop so that it doesn’t remove. As Leanna is brooding about the whole pool thing and feeling uncomfortable, Terrence invites her to take some fruits with her, but she doesn’t join him. She notices that Terrence did not say his prayer before eating. She asks Terrence if he doesn’t pray and Terrence replies that he doesn’t believe in God. Leanna is upset that Terrence did not mention it from the beginning of their relationship and this makes her walk away.

Terrence is dining at Leanna’s house with her mum- Gloria. He is enjoying the meal made by Leanna. Leanna’s mum- Gloria is not happy that Terrence doesn’t believe in God so this makes both of them slug out words with each other. In the process of arguing, Gloria coughs none stop and she is unable to argue further. Apparently, Gloria is sick but hiding it from her daughter. Leanna is upset with Terrence for speaking to her mum in the manner he did. Leanna feels he disrespected her mum but Terrence says he was just trying to be honest about his relationship with God. In the heat of the matter, Leanna tries to tell Terrence that she has alopecia but she is unable to.

Both Leanna and Terrence return late so he ends up sleeping over at Leanna’s place. Leanna dreams that while she and Terrence are making out, she yanks off her wig. She wakes up from the dream and goes to check on Terrence but finds him widely asleep. She returns to her room and prays to God for strength to keep herself pure.

A young guy- Carla (Acted by Stanley Carla) is spreading the word of God in front of a Lotto shop with his flier. He stumbles on Terrence who is about going to play the lotto as usual and gives him a flier with the short memory verse- John 3: 16. Terrence uses the first three numbers to play his lotto.

While at the restroom, Tasha attacks Leanna. She splashes water on her before leaving the restroom.

Meanwhile Leanna is chatting with God. She is not happy with herself that she is yet to tell Terrence that she has alopecia. She doesn’t want to keep it from him so she prays to God to give her the courage to tell him. She is worried that telling Terrence the truth is not as simple as it looks.

At a gathering, Robin persuades Leanna to go without her wig. She stumbles on Brandy who again avoids her because she has alopecia. Also, at the gathering, some women gossip her saying that people should avoid someone like her because alopecia is contagious.

Leanna again is chatting with God where she feels God hates her. She questions God on the reason He is letting her suffer from alopecia.

While at work, Robin tries o cheer Leanna up. She tells Leanna that the reason Brandy does not want to be with her is not because she has alopecia but because he likes white girls. Tasha joins them later. She flaunts the flowers in her hands and lies that Terrence bought them for her. She also lies about saying yes to Terrence’s marriage proposal. Leanna is worried and hopes it is not the Terrence she is dating.

Terrence is in front of the church building. The church security officer- (Acted by Brad Jones) asks if he may be of help to him. Terrence asks him what the church hall looks like; apparently, Terrence wants to know more about God.

Both Terrence and Leanna play a game called “spinning the bottle.” They spin the bottle and ask each other questions to which they must be truthful about when providing an answer. Leanna asks Terrence about Tasha and he lets her know that his relationship with her is over. Terrence asks Leanna why she did not go to college and she says she let something hold her back. Terrence also reveals to Leanna that he has a 7 year old son.

Terrence takes Leanna to his place and introduces his 7 years old son to her. Both Leanna and his son get along well. Terrence’s son reveals to Leanna that his daddy only talks about her. He tells Leanna that sometimes he wishes he was a white, but Leanna says he should be happy with who he is because God created him special. Terrence’s son is happy to hear that. He says he is like Leanna because she also knows she is special and she is not afraid of who she is; this puts guilt in Leanna.

Mrs. Smith gets a call that Gloria Hillmen is at the hospital. She quickly rushes down to see her friend. Mrs. Gloria is discharged and Mrs. Smith takes her home. Mrs. Smith finds out that Gloria is keeping her sickness from her daughter- Leanna, this doesn’t go down well with Mrs. Smith who immediately concludes that Leanna copied the hiding habit from her mother. Mrs. Smith moves closer to comfort her friend. She doesn’t want to tell her because she is battling with her own secrets also.

Terrence stumbles on Carla again outside the Lotto shop where he tells curious Terrence more about God. He afterwards prays for him.

Leanna and Tasha conflict over campaign idea choice during one of their meetings at work. Their fight gets personal whereby Tasha tells Leanna that Terrence will never settle for her. Leanna replies Tasha that her son would soon be calling her mum which makes Tasha slap her and then remove her wig. She discovers that she is bald and makes jest of her. She also tells her that she would expose her secret to Terrence. The boss calls the security to take Tasha away.

Leanna receives a call from someone who tells her that her mummy has passed away. Terrence and Leanna visit Gloria’s grave.

Terrence joins Leanna at her church service. When a paper containing the contact of a ring seller falls from Terrence’s wallet, Leanna suspects that Terrence wants to propose to her. This worries Leanna because she is yet to tell Terrence that she has alopecia.

Robin and Leanna are together at the beach where she tells him that she has a feeling that Terrence wants to propose to her. She lets Robin know that she is yet to tell Terrence that she has alopecia; Robin is surprised that Leanna is yet to tell him. She advices Leanna to tell Terrence if she wants him to love her for who she is.

Terrence who is about to propose to Leanna asks her to meet her at the rotary. Terrence proposes to her but she rejects his proposal because of her secret. She afterwards tells him that she has alopecia. Terrence is surprised that she doesn’t know that he already knows about her alopecia. She tells Terrence that she wants to deal with insecurities and many more before settling down. Since Terrence wont back down in his proposal, Leanna finally accepts the proposal.
