SYNOPSIS TO THE MOVIE- AN AFFAIR TO DIE FOR

A university female professor- Holly Pierpoint (Acted by Claire Forlani) and her student-Everett Alan (Acted by Jake Abel) need each other’s help. Holly is married to Russell Pierpoint (Acted by Titus Welliver) while Everett is married to Lydia Alan (Acted by Melina Matthews). However Holly wants someone who would make love to her without being distant while in the act. Everett on the other hand wants someone who would upgrade his marks so he can be a real doctor after graduation. The two enter an agreement and start a sexual relationship where they always sneak out most weekends to a hotel for their sexual romp despite the fact that they are both married.

One day, as Holly and Everett pack for another weekend getaway for their sexual romp, some set of people also packed for the same weekend getaway at the same location in a bid to harm them. So, who could want to harm them? Is it Russell, Lydia, the university management, other professors, other students? Find out in the plot…

PLOT

Russell Pierpoint (Acted by Titus Welliver) calls his wife Holly Pierpoint (Acted by Claire Forlani) to ascertain if she is already at the venue where her conference would be holding, but Holly who is still on the way corrects him that she is not going for a conference but a consulting work for an hospital. Russell feeling lonely most weekends, hopes that one day, his wife Holly will also give their marriage much attention and commitment just like she gives to her work. He tries to fix a weekend getaway for the both of them after her trip but Holly is flippant about it. Meanwhile, Holly is driving down to a hotel for a weekend getaway with a student lover- Everett Alan (Acted by Jake Abel), oblivious that her husband- Russell is aware of it and trailing her to the location.

At the hotel, Holly identifies herself as Mrs. Alan while the hotel receptionist (Acted by Amy Dincuff) and hotel staff- Dave Parker (Acted by Nathan Cooper) welcome her properly as well as show her to her room. Dave while accompanying Holly to her room gets some advice on how to make a marriage last from Holly oblivious that Holly’s weekend getaway is actually not with her real husband but a lover. Holly however finds a way to answer his question as she tells the young dude who just walked down the aisle to never be distant in his wife’s arms and also get her lots of flowers. Holly tips Dave after accompanying her to her room. Inside the room, she finds an envelope with instructions for her.  Holly takes a look around at the hotel after which she heads to the sink where she finds another envelope with another set of instructions.

Holly follows the first set of instructions which tells her to shower. While in the bathroom, her husband- Russell calls her but she ignores his call. She heads back to the room and opens a box containing undergarments, a blindfold as well as a chain for their sexual pleasure. She makes use of the blindfold and chains herself to the bed eagerly waiting for her lover- Everett to have wild sex with her. While blindfolded, her real husband-Russell enters the room and gives her a wild sex, assaults her afterwards and later lets her go. Holly thinks Everett is assaulting her sexually.

Russell after having sex with his wife- Holly heads back to the living room where he tied Holly’s student lover- Everett to a chair. He unties him and orders that neither him nor Holly should leave the room. Russell threatens to harm Everett’s wife- Lydia Alan (Acted by Melina Matthews) if he or Holly fault the instructions.

Everett unlocks Holly’s chain who at the end hits him for assaulting her. In anger, Holly packs her luggage and makes an attempt to leave the room. Russell calls Everett to remind him of one of the instructions which says Holly must not leave the room else his family will be harmed. Everett finds a way to make Holly stay back. He quickly apologizes to Holly for the assault which she is still oblivious that her husband is behind. Everett’s apology pacifies Holly for a while as she returns back to the room with her luggage.

Everett resumes back to the discussion with Russell who again threatens to harm his family if he or Holly should leave the hotel room or try involving the police. The scream of Everett’s wife-Lydia (Acted by Melina Matthews) makes him realize that Russell already captured his wife.

To safe his family, Everett must ensure that Holly does not leave the hotel. So, he cunningly pleads with Holly that they start their relationship over again. Meanwhile a security officer (Acted by Derek Morse) after hearing some noise goes to their room to find out what the problem is but Everett lies that there is no problem. Whereas, Holly is on the phone with the husband who reveals that he knows she is having an affair with Everett. Russell tells his wife- Holly that Everett is a dangerous man who wants to harm her like he harmed his other flings. He persuades her to quietly leave the hotel room without letting Everett know. Meanwhile Everett wouldn’t let Holly leave. Both Everett and Holly become uncomfortable around each other oblivious that they are being manipulated by the same person who is causing confusion and uneasiness between them.

While giving Holly a massage, Everett tries to know more about her husband- Russell, Holly also tries to know more about Everett’s wife- Lydia, but none is open about the question because of the tension in the atmosphere.

Terrified Holly finds all possible means to run away from Everett. She tells Everett that she wants to go shower. She tries picking her phone, but Everett snatches it away from her. As soon as Holly is out of sight, Everett tries to run away through the front door. Meanwhile Holly also tries to get help through the bedroom balcony but she is unable to.

Holly finally reveals to Everett at the shower what her husband does for a living. She tells him that he is retired police surveillance. Everett is upset with Holly and scolds her for not telling him before their relationship started three months ago. During their argument, their punisher enters their room and picks Holly’s phone. The punisher sends a message through Holly’s phone to Everett telling him that he is not careful enough. He tells Everett that for any false move Holly makes, his wife loses a finger.

Meanwhile, it is now clear to Everett that they are being watched.  He tries looking for where the camera may be hidden in the room but he doesn’t find it.

Both Everett and Holly plan on drugging each other’s drinks. Everett apologizes to Holly for lashing out at her earlier. Just when they are about sipping their drugged wine, a knock comes on the door. It is the hotel staff- Dave who has come to serve their dinner. As soon as Dave is about to step out, Holly immediately hands him a dollar note with the help message written on it.

While dinning Holly reminds Everett the reason for their sexual relationship. She reminds Everett that he had borderline failing grades while she offered to render a special assistance for him; he pleasures her bed while she upgrades his marks to make him a real doctor. As both Holly and Everett discuss their time together, a knock comes on the door. Everett goes to get the door where he finds a dinner plate in front of the door. He opens it and finds a finger with a ring around it. A message enters his phone revealing the finger to be his wife’s; a punishment for allowing Holly to give information to the hotel staff- Dave. Everett returns back to Holly with the plate in his hand. Holly asks what is in the plate, but he replies that it is an empty plate.

Holly goes over to meet Everett and forces him to finish the drugged wine. She then raises the edge of the knife at him threatening to kill him if he doesn’t tell her what his happening. Everett at this moment then reveals to Holly that her husband is setting both of them up. They are unable to continue their conversation since the drug is already taking effect on them, they both collapse shortly.

Both Everett and Holly wake up to see a bruised Russell who dies afterwards. Holly thinks Everett is responsible for her husband’s death, but he tells her that he knows nothing about it.

Their punisher calls them and lets them know that only one person can survive to see what is left of their family. Everett tries to kill Holly first, but pauses when a knock comes on the door. Holly finds a folded paper in her husband’s hand with the information instructing her to check the safe. When Holly opens the safe, she finds a memory card. Meanwhile, the hotel securities are the door telling Everett about their missing staff- Dave. They demand to speak with Holly who also tells them that she has no idea about the whereabouts of Dave. As soon as they are out of sight, Holly kills Everett.

The punisher again calls and asks Holly to destroy her phone in the microwave. The punisher gives her the option of going home or coming down to his room to meet him so that she can know the reason behind all the cruel acts. He tells Holly to retrieve his room key from her husband’s pocket to which she does. Holly is initially skeptical about going, but when she receives a message from her daughter reminding her to destroy the phone; she immediately destroys the phone in the microwave and heads to the hotel room with a knife in her hand.

Holly enters the room of the punisher and finds out that their room was bugged hence the reason the punisher has been hearing and seeing all they have been doing. Holly finds Everett’s wife- Lydia blindfolded and tied in the bathroom. She removes the blindfold and likewise unties her promising to get them both out of the place. As she goes to call the police for help, she slots in the memory card in the computer where she discovers that Lydia is actually the punisher.

Lydia shows her face and tells her that there is no escape for her since all deaths carry her fingerprints. Holly finds Dave’s body and realizes that Lydia also killed the hotel staff. Holly sights the memory card and tries to grab it as evidence but Lydia is faster as she grabs it first and flushes it down the toilet. The securities surround their room. Lydia taunts Holly that she will get away would it because there is no evidence to incriminate her; she says she has a lot of crimes that will lock her behind bars forever. In anger, Holly gets a flower vase and hits it hard on Lydia’s head which leads to her death.
