(+LYRICS+MEANING) ONE MORE NIGHT BY MR.P FT NINIOLA “WHY DID THAT GIRL DO HER EYES LIKE…”

We are now on IG@ogefashblog

Have you been looking for how to learn and dance that “Zanku Leg work Dance” originated by Zlatan? Don’t search further, this “One more night” song by Mr. p featuring Niniola will teach you very well.

I remember when the video to the song “Ebeano” by Mr. P came out (View the review here https://ogefash.reviews/2018/08/15/lyrics-music-review-ebeano-by-mr-p-this-body-is-ebeano-mbok/), I fixedly watched their dance moves and also tried it out, this perfected my Shaku Shaku moves. What am I trying to say, Mr. P and his choreographers are very good. Through their choreography, you have no choice but to learn how to dance; I don’t know how they do that.

So, away from the dance in the video, wetin that guy dey try to achieve in the video? I hope the guy as well as the director of the video (Mr.P) were not trying to make viewers laugh because he was not funny a bit. Abeg, if you have an idea what his role was in the video, kindly fill me in.

THE REVIEW

First of all,I love the fact that every of Mr. P’s new release always start with the background tune from his previous song.

Away from the previous song and back to this new song, I love the hook “Gwagwalada o Gwagwalada, gwagwalada o gwagwalada” but I have a feeling that this is my own version and not exactly what the artistes sang; they were not audible enough.

Lyrically, I don’t know what to make out of this song, some mumbo-jumbo lyrics especially that of Ninola. The lyrics were not just connecting at all. The lyrics were in disarray. It seems to me like the artistes focused more on the  chorus “One more night” which ended up affecting the entire lyrics.

The artistes sang basically in Pidgin although Niniola fused it with Yoruba

Song arrangement– Intro- Verse 1- Chorus- Hook- Verse 2- Mr.P- Chorus- Hook- Chorus; the lyrics are really in disarray

The song talks about the desire of two adults to spend one more night with each other.

BREKDOWN OF THE SONG

In the intro, “You say I be your tomato” Niniola reminds Mr.P about the pet name he calls her. She desires to have one more night with him.

In the Verse 1 “I know you’re high and you wanna get down tonight” Mr. P emphasizes how much he wants to get down with his lady- Niniola. Seeing how intoxicated she is, Mr.P feels she also wants to get down with him as much as he wants to with her. He implores her that they should get to it without wasting time. To get her subdued quickly, he brags about his wealth.

In the Chorus “Give me one more night” the artistes are fascinated about each other and want to be with eachother even if is just for one more night.
In the verse 2 “Sho ni moto ti mo ma gu’n?” Niniola lets us know that Mr.P is fascinated about her.  She lets us know the effect she has on him, hence the reason she is initially trying to prove hard to get. She eventually tells him that  to have someone like her, he must be willing to spend.

WHAT DOES THE SONG ONE MORE NIGHT BY MR. P FT NINIOLA MEAN

The song “One more night” is about two adults that are fascinated about each other and want to spend the night together one more time; although sexually.

LOCATION

It was shot in Nigeria; indoor scenes only.

COSTUME

Costumely! Glittering attires. The female dancers were all on bum shorts while Niniola wore a glittering short gown. The ladies were all looking colourful.

Mr.P and his dancers were all on suit and jacket but their ties suddenly went missing; they did not wear ties. Was that intentional? Anyway, they were looking nice personally (If you know what I mean)

SOUND

Interesting tune! The drum beat and the shakers made the music interesting to the ears. At some point though, I struggled to ear what the artistes were saying, especially the “hook” part of the song ‘Gwagwalada…”

VIDEO PRODUCTION

Ghen ghen, this is what you call the display of “Zanku leg-work dance”. Interesting choreography I must say.  I love their energetic dance; their dance moves actually synced with the beat. Great visuals, but it is not too clear though!

JUST WONDERING

  • Why did this girl do her eye in such manner, like someone that is…(Please complete for me) ; that was not sexy but exasperating
  • Was this dude supposed to make us laugh? Well sorry he did not achieve that purpose. I do not even understand his role…
