THE REVIEW
I don’t think “Double double” is the best title for this song. The song talks more about the artistes’ intentions to settle down with a lady; with the right person. They sang about how they intend taking care of their ladies financially and materially. If they had titled it “Marry You” it would have made more sense.
Lyrically, the song comes in three verses done by Rudeboy, Phyno and Olamide respectively. The artistes sang in four different languages and they are Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo and Standard English. Rudeboy sang basically in pidgin, Phyno Igbo, while Olamide in Yoruba. I just really loved that Olamide’s verse. Although Olamide’s verse was the longest, it was the most melodious in the song. It was as if I should just yank it off and release it as a different song to please my ears non-stop. I am like “N-A-W-A-O“ Olamide no go gree, im no fit carry last for the matter. He really made the song lively and gave it a different tune.
Their lines flowed very well. However, in Rudeboy’s verse 1, I couldn’t connect the last two lines with the first two lines “…See I get this mission, transmission vision. And if you tell the police oh, dem go see confusion”
In Phyno’s verse 2, I could barely hear some words, especially the first and last lines. Olamide’s vocal was quite clear.
The song arrangement: Intro- Pre chorus- Chorus- Verse 1- Pere chorus- Chorus- Verse 2- Pre chorus- chorus- Verse 3- Pre chorus- Chorus- Outro.
The prechorus and chorus were sung three times each and taken by Rudeboy.
Lyrically, the song is meaningful. It talks about the intention of the artistes to settle down with a lady and really pamper her financially and materially.

BREAKDOWN OF THE SONG
In the Pre-chorus, “If I no marry you, na im be say I dey craze” Rudeboy shows readiness to marry a lady and says he is capable of taking care of her financially and materially. He says whoever tries to split them would be destroyed.
In the chorus, “Fire fire chase them all away” Rudeboy says anyone that wants to separate him and his significant other, fire will send them away. He also says the blessing around them will be doubled.
In the verse 1 “See, I get assurance..” Rudeboy guarantees his lady that he would do anything for her. He assures her that he has sufficient money to take care of her.
“See I get this mission…” doesn’t flow with the lines, except he was trying to bring back the humor in the one-time commissioner of police that was finding it difficult to pronounce the word “Transmission”
In the verse 2 “Chei, Ah, Oyinbo, Oyinbo” Phyno desires to meet a good lady that will make him happy. He says if he sees such lady, he would hold her down and never let her go. He will take care of her financially and materially. They will spend their holidays overseas and she would never forget the experience of being around him.
In the verse 3, “Famimo, famimora baby o” Olamide promises to love his baby and shower her with may expensive things like Gucci and Parada, if only she draws him closer to him. He says if the girl leaves him, he is in trouble and would never be himself. He promises never to share their love with any other lady. He promises the lady joy and faithfulness if only she loves him dearly as well as allow him touch her.

WHAT IS THE SONG “DOUBLE DOUBLE” BY RUDEBOY FT OLAMIDE AND PHYNO ABOUT
The word “Double Double” means “duplicate, two fold” In the context of this song, it means that a lady would have that which she desires in twofold if she eventually settles down with a truly wants to marry her.
The song “Double double” is no doubt a love song that talks about the artistes’ readiness to settle down with the lady they desire. They found the one their hearts desire and curse those who ever want to split their union. It also talks about how they intend to take care of the one they love financially and materially.

MEANING OF SOME WORDS
Relate- To talk or communicate; Asunder- To separate; Obodo Oyinbo- Abroad
LOCATION
The video was shot in Nigeria; they used a hall. It is an indoor shoot
COSTUME
Costumely! They were all on suits; although Phyno was really looking funny in his attire. The costume of all those that featured in the song as well as the artistes complemented the track.

THE SOUND
Melodious and danceable! It no doubt has the same beat with “Nobody ugly” like I said in the intro. Infact, it is not only Nobody ugly,it has theseme beat with Fada fada by Phyno, Bank alert by Psquare.
Their lyrics flowed well with the beat. The use of drums, the piano and guitar made the song pleasing to the ears. There was hardly any interlude or anytime where they allowed the beat play without singing.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
The video was done in a comic way; quite funny. I love the fact that they made the wedding look real (Not like the MTN Traditional Advert, where there were no gifts at all; not even one, haba!), at least we saw people bringing in goats (which got me laughing), chicken, yam, onions and other items. The video featured the three kids of Rudeboy.
I don’t like the fact that there were few close-up shots, mostly distant shots. The video had great lighting. I love the white balloons on the white background. However, it wasn’t too obvious which made it look like a vain effort. Think they should have opted for another color or made the balloon glaring. It looks like a studio work; more like the background was attached to the video.
